Baby pictures!

Well all my mommy's have had their children, and Amita was the only one that kept her children. Week old today!

And the whole litter is sold, all seven are sold if I don't choose to keep any. I've looked through about half of the babies that looked somewhat decent, and I've pretty much decided to sell the whole litter. Neena had her babies, but she is the first mother I've had that lost her first litter for me. She just didn't know exactly what to do, she had them spread out across the cage. Next time will be better, I'm going to wait until after the first two shows(March and April) and try rebreeding her again.

Jazz's eye has flared up so it's off to Walkers tomorrow to get her eye med. I've got enough to cover her eye for tomorrow morning, but she'll need more to cover for a few days until it subsides again.

Truck went in this morning for new wheel cyclinders and back brakes and it came home tonight right before they closed. They told me that I was a nice customer, I wasn't picky on when it got done, so long as it was done by Sunday night for work.

Two left.

Two bred does left. Skye killed her 4 babies, and Calleigh's last surviving baby died this morning(I was supplimenting Amita's milk with a bottle, but it got squished from the other babies), Angie reabsorbed her babies(No Holland Lop babies this spring ready for the first show). I rebred Skye, but this time back to Blaze. She has this strong dislike for Gabriel, she was teasing the boys, throwing her butt up in their faces at either end of her cage so I figured she's asking to be bred, so I sent her back to Blaze.
I've got Neena building her nest and Lana getting chubbier. Lana's not mine, she's being boarded and I get first pick out of her litter in the stud agreement for using my buck. Tomorrow morning I should be able to get into Amita's box and get week old pictures of the babies. I can see their markings and their color now, and yes, all blue as expected. Neena's I fully expect Tort from(Tort mother and father) Lana's going to be a guessing game as to the color. She's a gray and was bred to a blue, they could come out blue, black or gray. *Shruggs*
The horses were very happy to go back out this morning. 24 hours they had been inside and Jazz is too hot blooded a horse to stay in her stall for that kind of time. I tossed her blanket on and her halter and put her out as soon as she finished her grain. I hadn't even put the hay out yet. She was kicking her heels up and running around like the nutso she can be.
I also finally got my truck out of the driveway. I didn't have the snow tires on so last night my truck almost refused to move around the driveway. It really is a wonder how just a simple set of snow tires actually helps as much as they do. The truck goes back to the shop tomorrow morning for new brake cylinders and new brake shoes for the rear. It shouldn't be too bad. Though two weekends in a row without my truck will drive me mad. I shall get pictures up tomorrow!

One down, 5 to go!

One litter arrived today! YEAH. from what I can see, there's seven in the litter. All blue dutch babies. HH's Matt and Amita.

They aren't very good pictures, but I didn't want to bother her too much. Still waiting on two dutch litters and three holland litters. Lana x HH's Matt (Gray x Blue) , Neena x Colby(Tort x Tort) are the dutchies. Lana doesn't belong to me, I'm boarding her because I have heat and her owner wanted a baby from her. Night Skye x Gabriel, Angelique x Speedle and Calleigh x Blaze. I'm really looking forward to the Blaze babies and the Gabe babies. It's really odd that Skye was due days ago and hasn't kindled yet, but Amita was due today, along with Calliegh and Angie and she was the only one that kindled. Neena is due on monday and Lana a week from today to possibly later. Rachel forgot to write down when she bred her.(Opps).
Anyhow, I had to share my excitment! I'm sure most of the babies are sold already. I'll keep a few of the good looking ones to show and sell there. I'll be keeping a holland baby girl since I lost Jolene today, assuming I get any nice looking ones, or I'll put a dutch in Jolene's old cage. Well, since I didn't get to sleep at all today, I'm well past exhausted and wanting to just crawl into my bed.

Babies coming, anxious

Well, I am the anxious one now. I've got 1 mommy that was due last thursday and so far notta. She's built her nest and pulled some hair but no babies yet. Skye ususally makes me wait three days past her due date. With three more mommies due this coming friday I'm kind of anxious about how they'll turn out. The hollands we've had enough requests for that I'm sure all the babies we have born will all be sold next to immediately. The dutch I bred for show, this way they'll be old enough to show and be sold at the first show of the season for me(April, Rhinebeck NY). I'm getting some pictures today of the nests. SKye doesn't put her in a box, she utterly refuses to, build a big elaborate hay nest in the corner of her cage and lines it with fur. PIcs on the edit later.

Hanging Out in the Cold!

Well daily temps aren't supposed to even get to 25 so it's going to be a bit chilly. Makes my hands and feet hurt from the cold. Not to mention my wallet, means I'm paying more in propane to heat the rabbits to keep their bottles thawed. I've got babies due anywhere from January 15th to Febuary 2nd. We bred for a guy and he already told us that any we couldn't sell to other breeders/showers that he would give us money for our babies.

The horses are holding out in the cold, some nights they come in, but I've already started to put them back out at night only because sometimes it is too cold to muck stalls.

Beauty came in as well for the night. She's a 13 HH Welsh Cob, Class C retired ex show, ex broodmare pony. Phoenix was the ladies man tonight. Only gelding with all the mares inside tonight! And he doesn't care.
