Yippie!! It was fun. long and very tiring. I did sell one buck(HH's Matt), he goes to his home next weekend in Amsterdam with a 4Her. ANd I came home wth a champion Junior Steel Dutch Buck, who they named Chris(I won't end up leaving him called Chris, but I'm calling him Wordy also from Flashpoint-I've got Ed and Sam) and a breeding stock Tort Dutch doe she's mismarked and I've decided on calling her Julianna AKA Jules, from Flashpoint.
'Jules'
'Wordy'
Wordy/Chris is ready to show and right now stands as my best show dutch, followed by Sam. Amita beat both of her daughters on the table. Josie(Whom Rachel owns) was 3rd, Robyn(Who I own) was 2nd and Amita was best senior blue doe. We had the only three senior blue does. Mimzy was best junior blue doe, but was un contested. Amita does throw some nice offspring and I bought Wordy/Chris from the same people that bred Amita's mother, so they were able to show me her grandparents on her mother's side. such nice looking animals, let me tell you. Granted I forgot the camera in the truck-sorry- and it was too hectic to try and run outside and find the truck and get them. Cindy had dropped us to unload the rabbits from her truck and then went and parked while we set up and checked in.
The Hollands didn't so as well, my best was Calleigh for Hollands. Best broken Senior Doe, her son faired very badly, but I can't sell him, Rebekkah next door loves him I fear she'd be heartbroken if he disappeared. Speedle was scratched, he's blowing his coat. Gab was loved by the judge's helper, kept nuzzling him and giving him kisses(But that's Gab for ya) and Skye bite the helper-but not the judge so she was safe there! Gab was fourth out of 12, not shabby at all, Skye was 2nd our of 4, Dylan 5th out of 5 in each of their classes. Dylan, I was told by the judge to hang onto and let him mature a bit more, he remebered judging his father before and said the buck was very nice and his mother was extremely nice so he should mature out a bit more and by next year be very nice for showing.
Eddy, my mini rex, showed with the youth that went with us, and well he was basically thrown off the table because he was out of coat condition. The blue's tend to get 'frosty' and chocolate out right before they shed, and Eddy was frosty. They told Mich that he wasn't blue nor lilac nor chocolate and to never bring him back to the table, he wasn't showable. I beg to differ I've had a few judges tell me he was nice he just needs conditioning, so that was the only rude judge there, She was showing Eddy on the table next to where I had my hollands up so that's how I overheard everything(That judge was far from quiet.) *sigh* I'll make him shed his coat out before Vermont and let her try him again. I figure I typically only show the Dutch and Hollands, I only got Eddy to go with Poppy so I had a pair and Mich is allergic to most of the rabbits, the rex furred (Velvety plush fur)and the wooley haired rabbits(Jersey Wooley's, Am. Fuzzy Lops, All 4 Angora's) she's fine with so she can keep showing him.
Anyway, I've got to go work on the garden area. Get all my 'compost' raked out so dad can turn over the garden.
