Fencing and Keeneland Race track!

A couple days ago I hung around and helped put the fence in, Uncle Jim's just bringing the boards around here.

As Aunt Lisa and I left for the track, closing day at Keeneland, Uncle Jim was still moving the gravel dust up the hill from the truck down bottom. (More pictures on his blog)

Aunt Lisa and I both have never been to Keeneland so I printed directions and off we went!

And here's a gray horse that we both loved, natually of coarse it was near last in it's race but that's because I picked it too. Opps, I knew I could be bad luck! Lentanor raced today, we missed his race by like 5 minutes, but we got to watch the replay, 3rd place, not bad!

Just a shot across the track towards the board: I did get some with the film camera of horses coming out of the gate, a few of the races we watched, we got to see them come out the gate right in front of us. The track is grayish, not brown like dirt, because it's a synthetic blend with rubber and what not in it. Some think it's safer for the horses, some think no. It's still a work in progress.

The perfect way to end a day! That was from the porch behind their house before I left to head for home.

Nothing much to update with, other than posting a few rabbits on Craigslist, Jacob AKA Scrapes, a little blue polish buck. SOmeone was supposed to pick him up Wednesday night, but they had to bail and reset. Naturally, I knew that was going to happen when I brought him back to the apartment to wait, so I didn't bother Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jim going back and getting him.

Also listed is one of the little Tort dutch does. I kept one, the runt. She might have someone that wants her.

Few shots of the horses. Jasmine got moved over with Heidi and Phoenix because she rubbed on the gates that make up Josie and Bo's stall. She seems to love Heidi. Heidi's got a new BFF, and they are both Phoenix's girls now.

Had nothing to do so I made a page!

So I figured I'd share it, it's for horses that are very special to me. I tried to make sure people wouldn't get offended by it

Well I got bored waiting for Rachel to come online

http://ayasorarabbitry.webs.com/index.htm I updated the rabbitry site too. HAHAHA I gotta stop waiting for her some times. She didn't get on until after midnight, but she had pics for me.

I thought that pics was cute. Lana, the mini rex baby she fostered and her own son.

Update for Allen.

Well Allen, yes, we have internet now. Road Runner is fast! But for entertainment, the guy that came to install the modem and hook the desktop up, I *had* to ask what system/computer does he prefer? Well he's a college student and taking Computer Engineering and he prefers Macs, YES I said Macs. He said they were less complicated. If it came to windows, he doesn't mind XP, Vista's a nice pain at times and the older window's versions just put him to sleep. Interesting.

Anyway. Pics from around the apartment. After some work. Sorry one is sideways, I did color coordinate my bathroom. One is from the heavy frost a few days ago.

Long Time

These Pictures are from when Uncle Jim burned the brush pile down, fire is fun, I'm just not that good with them. And had to get a few of dad helping Uncle Jim put the posts in for the sheep shed extension, but they started that when the fire had started to die down.

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jim took me to the Festival of the Horse(Piper's festival), but my little camera wasn't very effcient at taking pictures, Uncle Jim got the best ones! You'll have to see his blog, The Warner's blog for those pictures, I got mostly Piper.

Well I have been out to groom the horses, Jazz the most, she comes right up, Pheeny's a bit more stubborn, so if I want to keep checking his feet, I have to use a small scoop of grain. He's got one chip in his one still slightly off front hoof, so I'm going to check that one hopefully daily, if not every other day, this way if it gets bad, I can try to see if Micheal has time to come check it out. I'm just afraid of quarter cracks or splitting his front hoof and laming him out. His abscess was bad enough last spring, I can't imagine a front hoof. I may start him on a hoof suppliment for the winter to harden his feet a little farther, the black smith in NY said his feet were fairly solid, but were a lot softer than Jazzy's feet, from where he had been wearing shoes for years. His back feet and Jazzy's feet look great.
