Fishing Adventure

Dad and I after our minor mishap of trying to go fishing on Monday, decided to go back and try again today.  It was nice, water was smoother, and more empty.

You can see debris lines on the access road, this is to Twin Knobs/Alfrey Boat Launch.

Dad had caught a couple Blue Gills, all too small to be worth taking home, but I caught this big fella, a small catfish.  Boy he sure threw me for a loop.  I was expecting just a larger Blue Gill, as to why it was fighting so much.  I couldn't pick him up out of the water with my pole, dad swooped in to save the day with the net.
Dad showing me how to clean a Catfish.  He couldn't remember everything either- it's been a while he says.  So I caught some dinner.

New Buns! Fun Trip!!!

Well I put the pictures up in reverse but either way . . .

This is the buck.  HW's something.  He's from Hole in the Wall Rabbitry but I'm still thinking of a name for him.
This is HW's something as well, I haven't thought of names for any of the new guys yet.  She's the only broken doe from her litter.  She's the buck's sister.  The breeder I got them from suggested that for a generation I should breed them together just to solidify their body type and size.  I think after being told this by numerous breeders to cross brother to sister for a good solid foundation before outcrossing I don't have much of a problem following the suggestions.

This is Bucktown's Shiloh.  I knew I needed to get in a few new Holland Lop bucks as my two boys are getting old.

This is Buckettown's Beau.  I got him for crossing to Diana and producing my own Sable Points, He's got all the qualities that Diana needs balancing with for showing offspring.
Jess Caravaned back behind me from Ohio.
And on my way to Richmond I saw blue sky, I was excited that I had to take a picture, not the best from on top of the steering wheel, but lookie!! Blue sky!!!

More pictures and info later I'm tired

Re done bedroom random updating.

Well first thing this morning, I meet up with Brenda and she picked up the last 4 English Spots that I had and she also bought mini rexes off me for her daughter and a couple of her friends that raise Mini Rexes.
So after I got home from that mission to Grayson to meet Brenda, I got the horses groomed and fed, bunnies fed and filled the water bottles. Then I got the front gate cemented in, we couldn't get the old posts out to put a bigger post in so decided to just cement the current ones in.  Then decided to start tearing apart my room to get it good and cleaned out this time.
First I started with getting the Ivy Geranium hung up.
Then I went out to the barn to get mom's shelf that dad had built for the living back in Argyle and I brought it in, cleaned it up and the pretty wood braces fell off(old age) but dad and I got it tacked up on my wall for my Breyers.
So I got the last few Collages up on the wall, Starbuck and Lindy are down by the end, then a pic of Rachel and Red, Cindy and Chase, Jessica, then Bo and Abby's collages above my head.  Got them straightened out  more than what they look right here:
Jasmine got the wall behind the bedroom door, it's the biggest open area especially for her halter.
Then I was able to get my bed made with Snowy and Skippy sitting on the bed.
So it's been a bit of a rougher day but everything's looking alot better.  I'm going to try to work on my wall so I can move the dresser to the foot of my bed and *maybe* make a little more room in my bedroom.

Meager random Rabbitry update with Breyers

I had been waiting on this litter for a long time.  I wanted more Speedle babies so here's his first set!  I don't think Diana, the other doe that's bred to him, will keep her babies as she's being treated for Vents right now, but Felicity is keeping hers so far, 5 good sized babies and 1 peanut.  The peanut I already know won't make it, they never do make it past a few days.
Sophie's babies are getting bigger, this litter came out totally different from her last two litters.  5 brokens this time.  These are the 4 broken blue torts
 The two solid blue torts
The solid and broken tort.
Sophie's last two litters only had 2 brokens in each litter. This time she shocked me with 5 brokens.  I'm keeping the broken tort and one of the solid blue torts to grow out.

I bought this breyer today at TSC, they had her on clearance and she was marked down to $19.99 on the box, but she rang up $12.99.  I've been eye balling this model since she first came out.  What can I say?  I love roans.  This is Bet Your Blue Boons.

She's one I traded for off Model Horse $ales Page.  Her name is Red Rock.
The Roan collection.  Back row: Shasta Moon, Bet Your Blue Boons, Red Rock, Nakota Horse.
Front Row: Red Roan Foalie, Classic sized red roan stallion, bay roan foal, palamino roan mare.
I have one more red roan mare coming in and then I'm going to start working on the paints that I've wanted- Starting with Hidalgo, Spirit and Rain.

Last update for a little while . . . Gotta go back to work

It's been a glorious 5 days off, some Thunderstorms this afternoon but oh well.  We needed the cool off and I was already sunburned.

Bad first picture, but this is Trishy's last time being bred until December, I don't want to try and winter any babies in the meat pens.  These last ones should be butchered before Christmas.
After visiting Aragorn, she got her nails clipped and primped a little bit, still not socially out going like Rosie.  I shall learn for the next one!

This was taken as the storm was rolling in this afternoon.  It was thundering and a little bit of cloud to cloud lightening But I went out to grab fly masks
He's looking a lot better-almost shed out completely, time to catch up with the rest of the horse population!
 Them grazing . . .
Then the storm rolled in, I'm glad I got the rabbit cages cleaned as it started to rain.  I ran back to the house intending on getting this all posted but then we got hail, so I got pictures.
 One really big peice . . .
I nabbed it and brought it inside for better pictures
Next to a bathroom cup.  It was fairly good sized.  I've never seen hail that big before!
Looks like we put Rock salt on the porch, it's all peices of smaller hail.
The last of the storms at least until later, have just finished passing through.  Finally open up the windows in the house again and cool it back off!
Well it's been a wonderful 5-day weekend off from work.  Next step, sell one saddle and buy me a new one for Tessa, I'm going to get a treeless one like Aunt Cathryn's.  I've still got that website saved.
I might have a bridle coming in for Aunt Lisa too, black with white stitching, leather.  I'm talking to the lady online that has it.  If she can find it, I'll have it mailed down. It's inexpensive but it's something if she wants it to start with for Heidi.

Roasted with a side of fun

 Dad on Phoenix
I think my saddle's pinching Tessy's now broader shoulders.  She was ill behaved until I got off and she acted achy until I got the saddle off.  But here's her face, bridled.
Mom and I found amusement in he grass growing on the rototiller tire, dad wasn't quite as amused.
Dad did the big parts with the circular saw, I did the side of the nest boxes with the jig saw.
 I got lopsided triangles.
 4 Completed Holland Lop boxes.

 Roasted
I had to take them in the mirror.  I didn't even realize I was burning until I saw a mirror

Picture Spamming, Barn work.

Okay first I have to say, sorry.  I picture Spam Tessa~ALOT, but what can I say?  I love my girl.

Tessy looks cute with Phoenix, the two are quite the pair.

Just look at her!  Isn't she drop dead Gorgeous?!  Good thick legs, large muscular chest and haunches.  Very solid little lady.
Her chest is at least as wide as Phoenix's if not a little bit wider, she's going to be a stocky thing.
I had mom cut my hair up another 3 to 4 inches last night, to get rid of split ends and some more of the sun bleached dyed hair.  It's not overly short, but not excessively long either.
I did an over haul cleaning of the barn so I had room to move in there and what not.  Gave me time and made the barn feel roomier.

Also, to make sure I don't go back up in number of rabbits again, I took down some of the cages.  Put my saddles there instead for easy access to them for riding.

Just a short little walk through of the barn.  Not the best in the world since it was so sunny outside and the barn is darker and cooler.  Plus the camera's not the greatest, this is the little camera, the DSLR doesn't have a Video function- at least not that I have found yet.

I also cleaned my saddle for tomorrow's ride.  So finally my poor saddle got it's cleaning done.  It's been needing it for a while.  Tessy will look so good in her freshly cleaned saddle, with ugly me in it!  LOL.

I took a damp sponge to the black saddle to clean it up as well, prepping it for tomorrow's ride.  Dad's taking this saddle and Phoenix.

I had more requests for Velveteens so I had rebred Sophie, she had 8 yesterday.  Look at them tiny little claws!
White Gold's black Chinchilla buck decided he wanted to play peek-a-boo over the cage door with me.  He's adorable.

Jasmine and Cement

I had done this collage for Jasmine a long time ago, I tried to get her with every other horse that meant a lot to me.

So after a long search and painful waiting I finally found a Breyer Arabian mare.  While Jazz never got back to this kind of body condition, I had to make do with what I could find.
Side One-even has her graying areas that no vet could tell me what it was from and the white dots on her lip and legs:

 Side two:
 Face value:

So sicne Starbuck was her man, I took a quick picture of her with him-model wise:
And then, Jasmine never met Sunny Sedonia but these three horses meant a LOT to me:
Starbuck, Jasmine, Sunny Sedonia

This morning dad and I drilled out two mroe post holes and after he left for work I mixed up the cement with mom's help and cemented the front corner post in, and the post in the corner by the water hydrant.
By the hydrant:
 Front corner by Lois'
The post is straighter than the power pole . . .
