And it's soaking wet out there now . . .

It's been raining for a little over a day or so so the water levels are SUPER high again . . .
The ponies look like drowned rats.  I dried them the best I could after taking a few wet pictures:
Here, Heidi's looking for the coyotes that were yipping over on the hill behind Kinney's

And here's after I dried them the best I could and got their blankets on as the temps were starting to drop.  They were beging for more cookies:
I worried about something/someone going through the fence and them getting lose during the storm so their halters went back on.  I'm going to stop at a couple of the Walmarts (Winchester and Mount Sterling) and look for the tag maker machines and get tags made for their halters with their names, my name and my phone number.

Tomorrow, hopefully the ground will be frozen enough that I can tack Heidi up and at least put her on the lunge line to see how she wound up she is!

Finally warmer outside again

Its been super cold the past week and I didn't do much outside at all-except maybe get a cold!
But today was decently warm this morning so I went ahead and took the ponies blankets off.

As they ate supper I put Phoenix's mid weight back on him since Heidi used his heavy weight as a play toy today- that's what I get for hanging it over the railing I guess.

I'll be looking around for one of the horse balls and maybe Heidi will play with THAT instead!
I went up to see how the round bale was doing after being out for a tad over a week
Still has a couple days left!

You can see where the water level had been but it went down and the drainage ditch in the pasture looks a lot better- plus lower!

Latest and hopefully last Hay trip!

Nelson's round bales didn't last anywhere near as long as I had anticipated so I had to go find and pick some up.  I found some 4x5's on the edge of Mt Sterling and Winchester.  So dad and I went and picked up two the other day.  We took his truck because at least the bales will slide in and out of his truck a LOT easier due to his bedliner.

Thoroughly more entertaining on getting them out.  They were very tightly rolled and had gotten wet from the week prior of every day rain.  I won't go into details on how we got them out of the truck but it was interesting to say the least!
So we put one bale out immediately- since dad had been putting squares out for a few days.  After letting them eat on it for one night, I went up and pulled out a handful to see how it smelled and how much they had eaten.

They've had the bale for 4 days already and it's not even half gone it's that tight so there's a lot of hay in that one round bale.
The hay isn't quite as greenish as Nelson's bales but it sure does smell as good!!

The first part of his cold front that came through brought some strong winds-which are still going today- but it brought down some tree limbs around the area.
I switched Phoenix from his mid weight blanket(seen above the blue blanket) to his heavy blanket.  So I snapped a couple pictures of his body condition and it appears as if Kari-ann and Aunt Anne had the right idea with the Fat Cat suppliment- he seems to be gaining weight.

I know the gaining weight, then losing it and gaining it back is just his way of telling me  'watchout, the end is near!' but I've upped his Probios and that seems to be helping keep it under control.  It's only prolonging the inevitable since there's nothing I can do with the tumor/mass.
I take Heidi for a walk around the pasture while Phoenix finishes eating and I thought the sunset makes her look pretty!

And for some kicks, I put a couple of my dutch bucks side by side:
Colby and Dalton- both have very nice buck heads on them, Yes Dalton still has some growing to do yet!
and Leonardo and Rafik- Leo and Raf are closer in age than Colby and Dalton but Leo's needing to start growing into a nicer buck if he wants to stick around!  These two boys were also a lot more pig-headed to put together.  Colby's always been a laid back buck, and Dalton's young, he'll still little, Leo and Raf- not a chance!  Both buckish bucks and onery!

Mulitple random things!

Well since I can't go back to work yet I get bored VERY easily as of lately so the camera has been coming outside with me a lot.

Well since it's supposed to be decent for the next few days I pulled Heidi's sheet off just to see how clean she looks underneath it and to see if she's getting overly fat with the lack of work
Not really, she actually still looks really good:

I've been setting up the x-pens for the bunnies daily and today I finally took some picture of them out there
Rachel is the only older junior doe I can put out with my three little junior babies, Tigger, Penelope and Bethany.
Above is Rachel, Bethany and Penelope.
Below are sitting posed shots of Penelope, Tigger and Bethany.  Tigger and Bethany are two nice show prospects and have been listed for sale.
