Winter is Coming!

Early this morning when Dad and Allen woke me up we put the round bale out.  On my walk over I noticed the water tub was skimmed over.  I punched through with my finger so no big deal but guess I had better start thinking about setting up the tank heater and getting a piece of PVC cut for the plug housing.

Ponies waiting for their hay,  they saw me coming out and were expecting their square bale, and got  their round bale.
Very happy ponies.  Bale 1 of 10 from Eddie.  The girls dug into it.

Long update

So pictures to come.  Been a long boring hot summer.  Big girls came home August 25th. I did enjoy a few rides since they came home and even Court Day weekend I enjoyed a ride with Kelly.  Then a short bout of abscess lameness with Tessa.  Second ever abscess I have ever had to deal with.  I have been spending still large amounts of time working and then when I do get some down time I just don't want to do anything.  But as of today, it's been so wet in the pasture again that Tess has some cellulitis again.  Poor little mare has had so many issues this year.  A lot of it has stemmed from the stupidly wet pasture.  So I don't know yet how I will resolve these issues.  I wish I could afford to pasture board both mares someplace like Tamarack.  At least Tamarack is up high enough to keep them both dry and Perry is so good to the horses, but $400 a month is a bit too much to spend on both mares.  That is just under 1/3 of what I make in a month total.

So I don't know what else to do right now, I am trying to avoid extra expenditure and save up to replace my car and to start putting it towards a place of my own.

The rabbits I am unsure.  I totally chose to skip the rabbit show, I just didn't want to go because it was cold.  I have 11 bowls for water for winter and 19 rabbits.  Time to really narrow them down!  I kind of wonder at times how did I ever end up with so many rabbits again, but right now I think it's because I have two breeds.  I intend to keep to two breeds but I *NEED* to slim them down, plus also if I end up in a location that is less than desirable for living I may not be able to have the rabbits.  There are several that I will keep no matter what but I might have to give up on something in order to move forward.  Not sure on anything yet.

Willow has been doing well, she was allergy tested over the summer and started on the Heska shots and while right now it's still working it's way in her system and she's still on the Apoquel but I intend to start weaning her down off the Apoquel right after Thanksgiving.  Might be sooner if I have to house-sit for Mrs Fu again.  She said something about right around Thanksgiving.  It might prove beneficial if I do house-sit over Thanksgiving because then Allen can stay in my bedroom at Dads.  Not the most comfortable bed in the world but better than a cot I hope!
I am planning a 5K which likely I will have to walk a good chunk of it because of how out of shape I am.  I am going to bring Willow to the 5K with me but not sure yet if I am going to leave her in the car or let her 'run' with me.  I might just let her run with me.

Summertime slowness

Well Tessa moved to Lisa's way back in May, then Heidi in July so I could continue to repair my fence and replace some rotting posts.  That is still being finished up now as the time crunch has come.  But My girls are doign good, both came over today for some grooming, shaving their halter paths and Heidi got her ears clipped up.

Willow and I have sporadically started training work again but it's been sporadic.  I have been using her to desensitize Heidi to dogs, so far Heidi is totally fine with her.

We have thankfully gotten some hay up into the barn.  We have started with 50 bales and I'm going to get another 50 bales next weekend so I have 100 squares total up in the barn.  I will also be calling Nelson so that I can set up trailering and hopefully 10 rolls of hay as well.  I will call or text Eddy to check with him for hay first as I loved his hay, as did the girls!

Otherwise nothing going on.  Haven't done anything with the horses but brush them once or twice a month and work.  That's really about all I have done is work, work and work some more!

Pony pedi and doggie agility

So it has been a fun adventure here.
The pictures are not in any particular order
Willow has finally learned to take her dumbbell and will run around with it in her mouth at times, so continuing training has commenced.
Tessa finally looks pretty good, they got their pedicures done today.
Heidi's feet could have looked better if she didn't lean on Michael.  He was still a bit sore and stiff from surgery.  Still better than they were for sure.  I'm aiming on a 10 week schedule for now.

We are learning "Over" and she's got room to go higher if she wanted to.
Then some afternoon adventuring around to check the creek out back.
