Another week has gone by

So today marked last weekend Heidi will be at Tamarack.  At first she didn't want to come in as she was afraid I was going to bath her again.  But Today Dr. K came and did her teeth so they will be good for a few more years.

She's dried up considerably since last week.  I'm a LOT less worried about her producing more milk coming home next weekend.

She is looking FANTASTIC.  Whens he gets home and gets back on grain she will be awesome and finish her filling in and also get back on her joint supplement to help her achy older joints.  She'll be 14 tomorrow.

Tessa and Stormy are doing great as well.  Shedding TONS of hair.

Half Over

Heidi's time at Tamarack is half over now.  Part of me is thankful, part of me is terrified she won't dry up enough.

Her udder is so much smaller now.

Mane is so much cleaner after a heck of a scrubbing today.

Even her tail was still grimy despite the wash last week so it got super scrubbed again.

Crosstied so I could put the Kevlar on her feet.

Tessa is super happy to have the pen back to eat in.  Which is okay- I am going to go down to the second hand yard and get some 10 foot panels to make Heidi a new pen.

I measured Stormy a week ago- dead on 14 hands so only 3 inches shorter than Tessa.

Tessa is looking great again too!  Now hopefully the 50 pounds of seed I spread will sprout out since I spread it on 1.5 acres and it was supposed to cover 2 acres.  I will spread some more seed next weekend.

Weekly update

Stormy is adjusting to not having Heidi around, and not being able to nurse.
At least Tractors don't seem to bother her either.  I got to get some good grooming in on both of them today.  Hope to do more tomorrow while it is still nice outside.

I even scrubbed and filled the water tank.  Though come to think of it, I haven't put the heater back in.  Whoops.  A few more nights of the tank heater and it should be able to come out completely.

Since I got to the barn early I put Heidi in the wash bay to groom her so they could work on the stalls, then decided to hose her legs and wash her tail.

Her udder is still big and full- still needs time to dry up.  It's only been a week.  Can't wait to see her more dry.

At least her tail looks 1000x better.  Maybe next weekend we'll get a full bath and I'll get her shampoo out and start whitening her legs again.
Willow had a good romp around outside, and we got her jumps back out for her to play with.  I still find it hard to think she's almost 7 years old.
