Allen's post

Allen's actually done repainting the kitchen, but I haven't gotten around to getting finished pictures yet, these were taken during the process, Sorry Allen, had to post the hair picture!

Allen also put the railings on the trailer that dad asked him for. If you need to know dad, the railings are two feet shorter than the trailer, thsu the gap picture. 10 Foot trailer, 8 foot boards or something like that he was telling me while I was trying to get ready for work and post this at the same time . . . I mean I do multitask very well, I just can't be trying to do four things at once.

My blacksmith comes again tomorrow to do feet again, I think he'll be happy with the progress Phoenix's feet have made in the past 6 weeks. they were long and drifted to pidgen toed, so we're working on getting them straightened. To my knowledge, his feet have been like that for as long as I can remember, but they didn't look right to me-hence the blacksmith. I wasn't so sure anyway. Phoenix seems to like this guy and We'll just see how far this goes.

Cleaning Day, or should I say Bathe day?

Not exactly sure what order this was all done in, other than the bathes were today, and everything else was before them, but whatever I guess.
Here's Allen when he re-painted the hood of my truck. I need to pick up a few more cans of the paint and get some better stuff this time, this can ran all over the place(or an aresol can that's terrible) and Allen got covered in white, the bumber, the ground, you name it and it probably got painted.

The Fourth of July Parade, since Mom had Allen's car that day going shopping, we took the truck up to watch the parade. We got kind of lazy and went up early so I could just park the truck and sit in the truck to watch the parade. Allen sure does look comfy!

Jazzy and Pheonix both got bathes this morning. Pheeny was being a dork about it, he's used to warm water baths and wash stalls, here he got tied, like Jazz on the grass and washed by the hose and frostfree water line-no warm water there! Jazz loves to play with the hose when I do her face, she wiggles her lips in the water. Pheonix was done first so I could toss his fly stuff back on and get him back out in the pasture. Jazz, since I know she bathes well I waited until after to do.

I got a little bit soaked since Jazz has such a long mane and the bugs were atrocious so she kept shaking her head. I didn't care, other than the weird looks from other people at Hannaford afterwards to get dad's perscriptions. Rubberboots, soaked jeans and tee-shirt, you might wonder. The guys at Country Power-went there for Grain while I was down there- just laughed.
I got filthy going through and mowing around my rabbit shed and cleaning all the cages and what not. But it looks great in and around it now! Lol. Time to take a nice shower and relax for the remainder of my weekend.

Little bit of Everything

And Everything is about the right thing . . .

It started with changing my powersteering hoses. Changed way to easily for Mark and me and he HAD to say it, "Eh, What else can go wrong?". Well. Mom's waterpump in her car, my powersteering got an airbubble in it so I thought I had blown the pump up- It is going to get changed as the weather starts to co-operate, but it's fine. Then while mom was coming home from Kentucky, one of allen's tires exploded on her.

Looks purdy doesn't it?

We ended up waiting 3 hours for a garage to open up that worked on cars(We got to mom arond 5am), the first two we stopped at only worked on trucks(and by trucks I mean the big semi's and dump trucks- not little trucks like mine). The people that lived across the road from the garage were Amish folks, and being the slightly unsmart person that I am at that hour of the morning(8 am), took a wonderful picture of the horse and buggy as they left the farm house. Then was told Amish don't like their pictures being taken. Opps. Well at least in the picture you can't see their faces which I guess is okay. Learned that Mom's dad was born Amish but chose to leave that life. Learn something new everyday I guess.

So finally get back on the road, it's almost 80 degree's outside, so mom and Aunt Sheri stick me in the Buick(No A/C), and we actually got on I84 in Penn and got caught in Traffic!:

And then the driving rain once we were heading back home from Aunts house, my truck stayed in East Greenbush with Uncle, mom was too tired to drive(And SHE was tired? What about me?) So I drove the two of us home and we got home around 6:30 pm, in that same friggin downpour, my truck got left behind. I fed the rabbits and filled what water bottles I could with what water I had in the bucket and ran back inside. Then took a nice shower and went to work-talk about sleep deprevation. By the time I finally got to go to bed, I had been up for 37 and a half hours. Work wasn't pretty that night either.
Thursday night when mom finally woke me up again, I lazed around for a little while and finally came in, bored I texted Rachel "I'm bored, Wanna chat?" and I got a phone call with Rachel singing 'Find out Who Your Friends Are', by Tarcy Lawrence, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. She and her mom had a flat tire out in the back area in North Argyle. I had a reason to pick up some Ice Cream now! LOL. So spent a few hours with them and got home around 1 am.(I got there about 9pm) and Naturally it was in the rain, and dark but my truck was good. Today I'm going to be using my truck to get the tire remounted and back on Cindy's truck so she's got her vehicle back. :) Well makes for a long week or so here. Maybe I'll post pictures of the horses, bunnies and Magic this evening.

Ramp

The long delayed images of the ramp that Allen built for Magic and the handcart. I've had a few co-workers offer to buy it from us when we get done with it. *Shrugs* Maybe Allen should have a career change? It's squeaky but it's stable. I watched Allen jump on it numerous times and climb up and down on it. Magic seems to like it better than the stairs, she goes down very willingly, up I have had to coax her a few times but she does go up it. Charity(3 yr old I think) adores it, she was running up and down on it one afternoon when she came with one of her sisters to walk Magic that she woke me up. I rolled back over and went back to sleep, but asked mom later who it was. She's so cute.
Allen also started to sand the old hand rail down so he could urithane it but Dad's sander just up and quit on him one day. He told me the paper had ripped so he turned it off and got some new paper, and it wouldn't restart. He said he's going to get a new sander and if dad knows why it's not restarting, that, that would be wonderful news to know.
Happy dad? I know I've been forgetting to send you some, so now everyone can see them! LOL. It really is nice and sturdy. Allen's going to ask Mike if his inlaws want us to leave it for when they move in, we'll just tuck it up where the boat shall be vacating soon, when we are done with it.

Trying something New

Well I figured it was time for a change.

I dyed my hair, it's a 'Chocolate Cherry' color. There's also highlights that go with it as well, but we may not get to the highlights tomorrow, we shall try.
I'll get pictures of magic's ramp tomorrow, we got it done and into place today and got magic to go up and down it. she's not a freak for going up, but down she's got down pack.

Babies growing up

Well, no pictures today, don't have the time to go take some and then upload them.
I've gone through two of the dutch litters and sexed them. KItty's didn't survive, so I'm just retiring her and getting her a pet home. As for the HOlland Lops: Skye killed hers like normal, so she's getting rebred, that's the only way to get kits from her is to bred her back after she kills one litter. Angie is about 2 weeks off from her due date with a Fuzzy Lop. Let's see if she produces to him.
Back to my babies, the Dutch:

Robyn's got 3 bucks, and 1 doe(Shamefully) but everyone one of them are awesomely marked, so they should sell well. Naturally I'd get a full litter that looks great when I'm in a spot that I can't really keep any to show first.
Amita's I haven't sexed all of them, but so far one steel is a buck, the other I think is a doe, same thing for the blue-steels, 1 buck, 1 doe. The black I didn't check.
Neena's are still too young to sex properly but 3 Grays(Not steels like I thought) and 3 blacks(Yes I thought there was only five but there's six! One of these days I'll learn to count better) Her Gray children, 2 of them aren't badly marked, I've pulled one of those to keep to start my gray lines, the last is slightly mismarked. the blacks, one has a heart shapped(sorta) black spot on it's shoulders so it's pet quality.

The horses, my gosh Jazz needs a bath, I don't think much more dirt can get into her fur. If it's nice this weekend, I'll get both Jazz and Pheeny bathed. They need it soo badly after the long winter and it's been a long time since Jazz had a bath last, Pheeny I'm sure had one more recently.

Relay for Life

Yesterday was the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Queensbury. This is my 5th year in a row with Rachel and her mom. It's a 12 hour event(7pm Friday night to 7 am Saturday morning), though I've yet to stay the whole night. Something or another keeps pulling me out and away at night, last night it was because I was freezing and I've already got a cold.

The opening of the whole fun is the Survivor walk. They start out with bagpipers, I always have loved the bagpipers. I stayed down near the campsite until they had gone by and then I caught up with Debbie and the whole team took the lap with Debbie, Rachel and I took turns pushing Debbie around the track, Debbie preferred me since I didn't run anyone over. Rachel ran me over at least once, lord only knows who else she ran over.

This is the team. Across the back is Allen, Rachel Gonyea(Team captain), Kimmie Bean, Valerie Rode. them the bottom is Me, Debbie Heflin(Rachel's mom) and James Smith. The shirt color's do have reference. Purple shirts are Survivors of Cancer, white are people that are there showing support to find a cure. Our Team is centered around Debbie and Rachel, they started us all.

Someone helping to light the Luminaries around 9:30, I think. It was after dark, that I do know. I was going to help but forgot that the 'lighter' that I have was in the truck and we had changed our minds and taken Allen's car up instead. And you can also see behind the person, the CR Bard sign, they support the American Cancer Society.

This is the luminaries up in the bleachers to spell out HOPE, they used to have a second set on the opposite side that spelled CURE, but they haven't had those in a couple years now. The digetal camera doesn't do a terribly good job at night, but at least I got a decent one.

This is some of the Luminaries that were present for Karen Welcome. Karen Welcome was our Human Resource representative at C.R. Bard and she was very well loved, she knew every one of the 1,000+ employees and she was just the friendliest person. She had a total of 17 luminaries, I didn't get her one, I got the carnations that are in there. The picture below is for my friend Pam Cali, she's still in treatments for breast cancer, so I got her a luminary in honor of her fight, and also the carnations.

Well, it was still really fun, despite being sick and really tired.
