Jazz is getting better, Meet Samantha and Moe, Sophie met Ivy

This was what the Ringworm did to Jazz's coat, taken right before her first Betadine bath on the 20th. She's got a few guard hairs left down her back, but is mostly skin.

This is her today, the 23rd, her hair is already starting to grow back.

The cow's that wintered in the feild next door brought the ringworm in and gave it to practically everything! Stupid cows. Thankfully a few of the horses aren't showing signs or anything, but they must have strong immune systems. Jazz is just simply a wimp, Phoenix is just old so that might have helped his case(which isn't bad at all) get worse.

Samantha and her son Moe. They're Katahdin hair sheep and they do have handles, er, I mean horns. . .

You can see Ivy in the next stall and Moe is around twice Ivy's size, maybe a little more.

I brought my velveteen Lop baby, Sophie in to hop around with Ivy. They two are basically the same age.

Their ears almost match in size . . . I missed getting pictures of the two mimicking each other. When Sophie stopped to scratch, Ivy stopped and scratched, when Sophie hopped across the pen, so did Ivy right behind her. It was so funny and so cute! Watching Ivy try to stomp her feet like Sophie did was interesting, she stomped down her hind foot and then looked quizzically at Sophie.

Paris Trip

Jasmine's got her nice pretty official halter! I've wanted to get her something pretty for a long time and Quillians was the only place I knew of that did the name plates so I finally got her halter(which is a cob size- a size Quillians doesn't carry with a throat latch) up there last Thursday. Aunt Lisa brought me up there, we drove a round a little and soo badly wanted to stop and take random pictures of baby horses but too much traffic. I went this morning, cutting time a little short and ran back to Paris & Quillians, to pick up Jazz's halter. So now I can actually do pony rides with her and she looks pretty!

I swung back by Aunt Lisa's and put it on her before running home to get ready for work.

Just a random picture of Clairborne's main gate. That's the farm Aunt Lisa and I saw the gorgeous Gray Stallion out when we went through there Last Thursday.

Drive by shot of mares and foals, I had someone behind me so I got down to 40 MPH and just took a shot real quick, not sure what the camera would take and what it would not.

Sorry, no other decent pictures of horses because Rt. 627 is a bit too busy to just stop in the road and take pictures, tourists or not!

Baby Velveteen Lops!!! They're soo adorable.

This is the broken blue tort doe in the litter that I'm keeping. In two months I'm going to have two shipped over from Virgina to swap for two of my babies.

This is one of the little girls. Solid blue like daddy. All 4 solid blues came out does.

This is a solid blue tort, buck, that Rachel is taking back to NY with her. The blue tort babies came out opposite of the blue babies-the solid blues(like daddy) were does, the solid blue tort was buck while the broken blue babies(like Mommy) were bucks and the broken blue-tort was a doe. Odd coincidence.

Aunt Lisa was the only one with Rubber boots on so she had to stand down in the water. I had offered to take off my socks and boots and go barefoot in, but she grossed me out with all the slimy, creepy crawling bugs in the water.

Jazz getting a drink from the creek after she ate her breakfast- Now we know why their water isn't disappearing. Phoenix, Jasmine and Bo's fly masks went on. Jazz's is more for fly control to keep them out of her eye so it doesn't get inflammed again, Phoenix because he's old and deserves everything he can get. Bo's is to keep his eye from running, I just want to be cautious with his.

Little Bo with his fly mask, let's see if he keeps it on. His little legs look to be straightening some. I might ask Micheal about slightly trimming them to help correct them next time Micheal is around.

I had the Velveteen Lop babies outside on my fleece vest and got a few cute pictures of them, their ears are soooo big now.

Today was gorgeous, the weather was great. Had way more to do than I had time to do, but tomorrows another day. I'm liking this new work schedule in some ways. the days off are awesome.

This is baby Larry. 10 Day old Herferd/Angus cross steer. He's such a cutie pie, he arrived today after the bunnies were moved to their new Hut.

Mini Rex babies, born March 17th, one baby was lost through the cage wire. One castor, one harlequin, 3 whites(probably Red eyed) and One tri colored.

















Velveteen Lop babies, born March 18th. 4 solid blues(Like daddy Wordy), 3 broken blues(like Mommy Shelly), 1 solid Blue-Tort, 1 broken blue tort.
