Little bits of update

We had several days, other than well above temps, but they were all gorgeous.

With the days so warm, the horses still haven't completely shed off and were getting hot.  

Bahloo fixed that problem for herself.

Heidi will go down into the pond with Bahloo, but she just like to splash through it, drink and eat the underwater grass.

Phoenix stood up on the rim with me, he doesn't like water like that.

My pasture is starting to green up nicely. 

I put the round bale out from Aunt Lisa yesterday, I guess they were hungry.  I know there isn't quite enough green grass for the three of them. 

Though I hadn't expected them to take *that* much out of the bale in one night. 

Now onto Bunnies!!

Juliet on the left with Alex on the right.  She and him had a date today. 

Xena wasn't in the mood for pictures, she's due to Alex in a little over a week.  Let's see what kind of babies Alex throws. 

These are Bree's two offspring that I'm toying with which one I wanted to keep.  I think I might have made my choice via body type. 

These are the daughters of Bree.  The first one has a much better body type- at least when you ask her to sit up nicely.

She's darker, and slightly longer and flat overall.


The girls came up to see me before I headed inside for the night.

Both of these girls were brushed before going into the big feild, but they all had their turns rolling.

All from today, some are taken with the little camera some taken with the big camera.  None really came out badly, well actually one of Phoenix did because Heidi thought she'd help me take a picture of him, but I deleted that one!!

Horse Picture Spamming

Cause I love the ponies!  I moved them across to the Roark's pasture with the intentions of getting another load of square bales and gives them time to stretch their legs and munch on the greening grass. 

I would have gotten more pictures of Bahloo running but she was REALLY kicking up her heels and showering me with mud. 

I'm going to work on getting them completely shedded off and get weight back on the poor old man.  I haven't had the problem of him dropping weight before, so I guess there's a first time for everything! 

Going to try some beat pulp and if Dr. Joe has some time on Wednesday I'd really like to chat to him and see if I can pick his brain and figure out what is going on with him medically.  He had that first shot of Banamine 2-13, and got a second on 3-8, 3 weeks and 3 days later.

I don't know right now what to think or do, so I'm consulting my books and reading up on what I can and going to chat with the vet.

Snow Day 2012!!!

Lots of thick heavy snow covered the ground this morning.  You can sorta see it on the fence. 

Maybe Dressage could be in Heidi's future if I can get the courage up to board her and get a trainer!  She may not move as pretty and nicely as Bahloo but she can move out nicely.

I didn't bring the hay all the way back to the back feild.  I didn't feel like it this morning in all that snow.

I also took Ayden out this morning into the snow.

Horsie pics, New bunny cage and Ayden pics!!

Well Aunt Lisa went to Georgetown to pick up a rabbit cage for Kate(full wire floor-even in the hutch) and she grabbed one for me as well, a 3 bay 'death row' cage for behind my barn.  The roof was a bit rotted but the floor wire was still in decent shape so we reinforced the floor with some new 2x4's, replaced a few of the door latches and put in one new feeder. I moved the horses across the road so they could wet their lips on some of the greenish grass.

Here dad and Allen were using Roofing tar to seal in the metal edges.  We ripped the old partical board off, put a new one down and then used dad's extra metal roofing and made a metal roof on it.  Should outlast the floor wire.  Then we tried putting some of the roofing tar on my comfy rubber boots to seal up the holes.  We shall see how that works!

New Partition in place, back to making it 3 bays.  The end two bays are going to be for bucks since they are smaller and the middle one will be for does as they can live longer than bucks, bucks just get nasty above 6 months. 

Allen replaced two of the door latches, and repositioned the only working one.  We killed off one battery to the drill, good thing the backup was charged and ready to go!  Now battery #1 is getting recharged. 

Heidi watched us for a while as we worked on it.  She seriously needs a bigger halter.  That's the biggest one I could find and it's still too tight.  I'm trying to order one from Walkers- 1" double ply nylon.  

I took Heidi's bit and put it in the nylon draft bridle and it fits perfect.  I have a red one identical to the purple one, coming in for Bahloo so I'll have it fitted to Bahloo once it gets here.

Then, Jess came down on Saturday, and she brought with her puppy boy(I know, he's 5 years old- not exactly a puppy) Ayden's been sleeping with me, I do miss my puppy boy.  He's got some weight to lose, and he is oversize, his sister-Avery, is almost 4 inches shorter and narrower than Ayden.

He's an oversize, but that's what I wanted when I got him.
