Blackberry picking!!

As a few folks saw before The first time I saw the blackberries I got some HUGE scraps on my legs climbing back through the barb wire. 

So today, I took Jess and the 4-wheeler over and we picked mom and Jess a BUNCH of blackberries!

Well anyone want's blackberries, come pick some!  We didn't even get 1/4 of them, plus there's some on the fence line behind Alfie's as well that we can pick!  It's insane!  I'm not a fan of blackberries so I won't be eating them! 

Not the smartest Ideas

Well it got hot and humid too fast, I didn't get feeding done quick enough to go 'fishing' with dad so after he got done and finished mowing I gave Heidi a bath.  Instead of just taking her to hand graze, I put her nylon bridle on, pulled the 3 step, step ladder out and got up bareback.  On a wet horse.  Not the wisest of ideas.  I was soaked already so I helped dry the rest of her back.

And I didn't even think about scrubbing her legs.  The ground is still squishy and they'll just get grubby again real quick anyway.  Plus I didn't have any whitener to help clean them. 

Storm pictures!

I really tried to outrun the storm yesterday and I stopped a few times to get these shots.  I didn't make it through Mount Sterling-coming from Winchester- heading home before getting caught in the downpour.

 

 So today, after walking the fence line picking up some of the down dead branches, I scrubbed the water tub and refilled it. 

 

 The ponies eventually wandered off from trying to 'help' me scrub the bucket. 

While the bucket was filling I got to go grab some lettuce for the bunnies to eat.  Della LOVED her lettuce!

Whoops!!

I made a big whoops today.  Dad hasn't had the time to mow the horse pasture, so I mowed it today.  I've never done it and dad gave me a few pointers- a few I didn't take to heart very well!  I ended up getting the lawn mower stuck in one of the dips that I THOUGHT I could make it across. Dad was waiting for it.  He knew I'd get stuck at least once or twice. 

 

Bahloo's pond is over growing!!  She's not here to mow it down!

At the end of the day, I realized-thanks to Aunt Lisa- that I was sunburnt!  Good, one BIG step towards my summer tan!!

 

Pony bath!

Miss Heidi got a bath today, she was scrubbed so hard that I ran out of shampoo and STILL didn't get her legs to come white again.  Then we went out and grazed through the Roark's yard, it's waist deep to me.

And one of Pipsqueak!  I have to try and find her some Ben-Bac antibiotics since I don't think the PenG is doing the job to get rid of the Vents on her.  I'm doing my best for this little sweetie!  She's been such a sweetheart about taking the shots of PenG, and she just wants to cuddle and I can't touch the other bunnies as the Vents is very easily transmittable to the others. 

Last of the weekend

Well as the long weekend off from work comes to a close, I got the last of a few things done.

Water tub scrubbed, filled and the horses are back across the road 

 Also fixed that fence to boot, raised it up to hopefully keep Heidi off of it.

 I tipped Grace's nest box on it's side to help it stay dryer.  They're not quite big enough to completely lose the nest box. 

And the new wall board in my room.  Late last night I found water on my floor and my window hadn't been open since it rained so we pulled the panel down this morning, and found out the line to the shower head had been loose and when I turned the shower it's self back on dad got a mini shower.  Turned it off, tightened it all back down and we had to put up new drywall since the old piece was now completely soaked.  So time to spackle and paint will be coming up this spring! 

Good start to the weekend

Had a good start to my 5 day weekend~ Got Phoenix out on Friday, Heidi out on Saturday and got the camera out Saturday afternoon as well (dad had it out getting pictures of my ride for me so I can see what I am doing and where to improve)! 

 

 

 

 

 And here's what I meant when I said I got the camera back out again too.  I love photogenic moments!  Made me think of the pictures of Grandpa Skip in Idaho when I was little. 

Sadly it's raining the rest of the long weekend, hopefully tomorrow will be decent enough temperature wise to get the bunnies out and playing inside the barn.
