More of nothing-ness!

Well been a wet boring wintery couple of weeks, but this weekend has finally made the turn to spring.

Everything is still mud, mud, muddy.  

 The girls enjoyed the sunshine today I put out a bale of hay and they ate some and then curled up in the sunshine to take some sleep and rest their legs.  They haven't laid down since the last time we dried up for a couple days.  This time it shouldn't rain again until Thursday so LOTS of dry days.  Thank heavens! 

 Some of Jessica's Chives are coming back on their own in the planter boxes.  Guess we had better start getting things together to start planting! 

Out of all my spring litters that are on the ground, I had 10 live babies that made it to weaning.  Both rats, and does not taking played a huge part of it, but anyway, I kept 3 back, sold 2 today alongside one senior.  I have 3 does due this week still- 2 more dutch litters and 1 English Spot litter.

I tattooed the 3 I kept back today.  the 2 bucks I will probably sell, the doe I am keeping back to raise up further.  

Water and Mud EVERYWHERE

So apparently Kentucky is trying to break it's water record from last year and it's been more rain than sunshine lately in the Bluegrass state.  

The girls have been living in mud for months, and I fear it won't dry in the foreseeable future.  

I ventured out late this afternoon to town to see where the flood waters have come back down to so far.  Still Very high. 

Great day for a Drive

I had a good drive today up to Berry, KY to go visit Bryan and Oneda Lambert and pick up rabbit feed.  It's always such a pretty drive.  

I enjoyed seeing the storm cellar in the middle of the cow pasture above and also got to see my "hobbit door" as I call it as well just north of North Middletown, below. 

So now I am stocked up on rabbit feed and will likely get more come the show at the end of March.  No new bunnies on this trip!  I am saving that up for the show since it'll be a specialty show for the Dutch. 

Gorgeous weekend that I enjoyed greatly!

Today was actually a NICE day so we enjoyed the great outdoors for a huge chunk of the day.  Lots of pictures to upload.

Then a few of the horses.  Yes it's muddy- still.  I don't know if I can even remember a time when it wasn't muddy.  

 The horses are really liking the Himalayan salt lick 

Now even one of Heidi's legs are starting to get puffy.  I gave her some Bute and started her on the hoof supplement.  I know it's from all the mud and moisture.

Preparing for the Temp crash and winter weather

So with continual rain it's left everything muddy and squishy only today the temps were going to fall out.  Since the ponies were drenched I opened back up their run in, but not before I put a bale of straw down to help the mud. 

 Tessa was first to come inside the run in so she got to clean up all the grass that had grown in there where they couldn't eat it all up.  

Got both girls to go inside.  Heidi's being mean about sharing so I am tempted to put up a gate in the middle so she can't kick Tessa out. 

Then the two got their rain jackets that will help them be able to dry up their fur underneath for when the temps finally hit the bottom
