I am in love with little Stormy. She's been a very good baby. I swear she should know way more than she does but it's a total learning experience. We did leading lessons yesterday and today. I also made her learn to put on a fly mask today.
Today I put the fly masks on them as the flies were terrible! The garlic doesn't seem to be doing what it should be doing for flies. Granted the huge inch long flies are not around but the little flies are numerous and no fly spray does anything for them.
Then this afternoon I gave Heidi a bath. Her coat was so disgusting and her legs so badly stained. I got quite a bit of her legs to clean up.
Stormy's fly mask doesn't fit right now. It's way too big. I have to either order a smaller one for her or figure out if Quillians has one in stock.
But Stormy is still growing by leaps and bounds I swear. I am almost starting to think she's going to be darn near identical in build to Heidi. She's getting thick. I am worried she's going to actually get taller than Heidi in the end.
The rabbits are at the end of the spring breeding sessions. I have 4 left to kindle and I think all of them are pregnant but no big litters. 2 English Spot litters coming from Linds and Suzy, the baby below is Mooney's baby. Waiting on Memory and Sorsha to kindle. Sorsha should kindle tonight, but I think it'll only be 2 or 3 kits. Fairy finally had a single kit for me, but both Memory and Fairy were bred to a very young buck.
The two girls from my Chin litter. Just leaves Memory on the ACV for right now since I had live babies out of Fairy, KC2 and Dell they got weaned off the ACV.
KC2 is the doe that isn't mine in the barn. I brought her home and tried to get her bred for Karen. I will keep a single offspring from her and from there it is up to Karen as to what she wants to do with the doe and the other two offspring. I am betting she doesn't have room. She hasn't had room for a while.
Linds(black doe) and Suzy(Blue doe) I positively feel babies so they are pregnant. Sadly I did NOT write down when I bred Linds and Dutch doe Memory so I am just waiting and playing that by ear.
But all in all this is the end of the babies for a while for me. I just don't want to deal with trying to sell them. I don't get much for them from the Amish boys and Marty isn't needing too many right now. Plus I am wanting to move forward with my plans to build a big colony pen to put them in as another of my cages the floor is rotting out of and I don't want to put out the expenditure to buy new cages or good wire and build a bunch of cages.
