Pictures from Today.

My girls missed me today while dad and I did fishing take 2.  Dog pictures are actually from after we got home because Autumn enjoyed playing with the ice.

Breyer post

This is mostly for Aunt Lisa to see the size comparisons of the Unicorn Breyers.  The 'belgian mare' model with added tail and customized to look like Heidi is one and Harley O on the fresian mold are size references, as is the 8oz jar of Cranberry supplement.

Hot weekend

I want to try and get everyone some grain at least once a week in this heat so I can check them all over.  Heidi usually comes while I am filling the water but Rosie, Nina and Ralphie do not, they tend to stay under the trees.

Heidi can still come running when she knows it's grain!

Ralphie is growing!

The heifers still know what feed pans are!

All weekend knowing it was going to be at or around 90 I was out early to Tamarack first.  Been taking Stormy and just trying to do more stuff with her and seeing what she will do.  Today we walked to one of the highest points of the farm (Up past the indoor, no pictures), then walking into the wash bay and also into the barn.

She is still enamored with Annie and baby Athena. Seems like Annie was one of her favorite buddies, she seems to also like Shiloh, the red standardbred mare.

Horse Pictures!

Some of Stormy, some of Heidi, some of the old thoroughbreds at Old Friends in Georgetown.

Old Friends:
Special Ring likes to smile

Birdstone was not being social

Silver Charm is now the oldest living KY Derby winner

Lava Man (above and below) is still settling in to Old Friends and was a bit anxious

Nicanor (Above and below) was way in the back and one of the ladies brought me back to him afterwards.

Lazy weekend pictures

Little Ralphie isn't so little anymore.  He's roughly 8 weeks old so time for vaccines. He will finish what milk we have for him so we don't have to store any of it.

Heidi has taken her roll of companion for Rosie and Nina pretty well.  The three are usually not far from each other Nina popped through the electric so they are now back to just their field.  As soon as Ralphie is done with the calf milk, he will join them as well.

Stormy seems to have made a friend with one of the other mares.  This mare isn't so bad, just a chestnut standarbred mare out there is a bit dangerous.

Long time update.

So I have been food training the cows.  Unintentionally at first with Sophie but now with Rosie and Nina it's intentional to keep them super tame.  Heidi and Sophie have been getting down their routine quite spectacularly.  Good thing as Sophie's only got a couple more days until her date with Flemingsburg.  So far I think she'll get on that trailer very nicely.

Though it may be a little sad for Heidi to lose her 'buddy'.  Well as buddy as they can be.

She'll get these little girls for companionship afterwards.  Nina the black angus and Rosie the Jersey.

The main reason that Heidi has no equine companions as Stormy is now at big girl school.  I moved her over to Tamarack on the 3rd.  She's learning to be in a herd, and learning how to socialize with other horses.  I am exposing her to as much stimulus as possible.  As it gets warmer I'll start taking her for walks around the property like down to the creek so she can see all sorts of wildlife.  Though with as butt high as she is, I will wait until fall to start her under saddle- unless Amanda or Dora come forward and are interested in her as an event/dressage horse.  Otherwise she'll be a fancy trail horse for me.
