Busy days

I only had two days off, with plenty to do.  I had a couple no-shows for the truck.
I finally after spending a few hours over with Lisa, Jim and Grandma(plus the girls!) I got home to shave Ayden down.  I did a much better job this time than I did the first time.
Lots of fluff, he was shaved standing on the tailgate of my truck, this is after it got rained on last night.

He sat outside with me while I weeded and pruned the rose bushes.
Then I went up to the barn and groomed up Heidi, she's even more itchy, I think it's about time to get some antihist and a grazing muzzle as she's getting fatty deposits along her crest as well.

Bailey's Farewell and New Start

Bailey went home with her new little boy today.  The two were awesome together, and he loved her.  It was good to see that someone will now give her the attention she has been desiring.

The last of the work

I finished the last of the barn modifications today.  Got the latch put on the little cut through door and wooden legs on the 30" x 30" cages and them snugged up in the front corner.

The bucks are now a solo single spot now, not near any girls at all so hopefully the tort buck can settle down and stop being a pig headed male.

Barn improvements

From where I started to downsize the rabbits, I got a bunch of my rabbit cages empty.  Now to get the cages out of the barn so I don't even consider putting rabbits in them.

The crowbar and I were busy for a few hours today!  Hopefully Sunday afternoon dad can help me move the cages around and put the new legs on the other cages and get everything reorganized and cleaner in the barn!
The other cages have been moved to the other side of the barn and awaiting someone to buy them. Use 'em for rabbits or show banties or something.

It was awesome feeling to get the barn work done.  It was between rain showers.  Now the extra cages are all listed on Craigslist!

Horsie Grooming day

I spent today, as it got hot today, and I had promised myself to groom the little red gelding that was out in pasture board.  Perry and the boys moved Heidi to the lower barn.  They knew I was nervous as heck, because I know Fortune has just finished healing up from a tendon injury.

I LOVE this boy, Irish Boots a 2000 Chestnut TB gelding by Storm Boot out of Bouillabaisse.  He's off and on lame with his left fore leg.  I'm fairly sure I can get him sound again with some good corrective farrier work and some front shoes.  Maybe if I win the lotto!  He hadn't been touched in about 3 years except for Farrier and shots.  I didn't know that and I just put him in crossties, I waited a few minutes to make sure he'd be alright and then I started grooming.  He stood like an old pro!

Perry insisted on paying me to groom these guys so I told him I'd get the other three done tomorrow.  Today we got Bootsie, then to the bottom barn to Mary and Misty.
Last one I did today was my big girl.  She stayed happy and comfy in her stall today.  Had a fan blowing on her head and chest all day while she slept.
