Start of the big move

Three tier stacker cage for the Velveteens got moved today, easier to move in chunks thank at one time. Comfy cozy in their new habitat I hope.

Leah didn't seem to mind, she settled herself right down.

I took fly masks off the big kids today, Oriana's face is healing up good without her halter on.

You can still see some rubs, but I'm hoping they'll disappear with a week or two of no halter. I'll have to put Fly spray on her face so the fly mask doesn't sit on those rub spots.

My princess Jasmine showing off. She wasn't happy having her fly mask removed.

Just some pictures

Just a few random pictures of the critters. It's been hot out and what not so everyone's a bit cranky for playing.

Parker's ears are looking awesome. So isn't his tortishell colouring.

One of my girls, Parker's sister Leah. I'm going to try bracing up her back legs as soon as I can to see if *maybe* I can get them to come back around. It's worth a try-worst that can happen is it won't work.

Sundown looking pretty.

Heidi and Phoenix completely ignoring me, they had to listen to their tummies. They make such an odd pair to see together.

Oriana is smart enough to know how to remove her halter. So the two only have fly masks on, this was before I put them back on, I had taken them on rainy day so that they could be washed.

Leah's Dreaded Vet Visit

Sophie and Leah in the truck riding to the vets office. Leah got to go in and have her back legs checked, one is at an odd angle.
Vet's diagnosis wasn't good, but there's nothing that can be done. The tendons in her knee on her right leg are torn and strained on the left leg. Her knee is almost permanently sideways. He said there was a few thing possible but they were expensive and not even gauranteed to work. They were Uterine developmental issues.

So after the vet visit, I took the two girls into Tractor Supply to pick out a toy, and Leah wanted nothing to do with any of the toys that I put down in the cart for them to pick from and Sophie picked the stuffed carrot. Parker had a ball playing with it once they got home. I put an ice bottle because the girls were really hot after all the running around we did today. The vet, then Tractor Supply lastly Southern States.

The girls were hot and tired, had to lay out and relax. So strenous being out there riding around in the truck!

Gave up on the stuffed carrot and decided to chew the ice bottle instead, pushed it away from where Sophie was laying against it. I'll have to get Aunt Lisa a new bottle.

First Time ever pulling a trailer. I didn't do too badly. This is as far as I made it up the driveway before the back tire spun. Backing up was way more difficult. I ended up turning around in the feild and pulling the trailer back down the driveway. Two tries to get it parked too. Not bad for a first time, I don't think.

This is Oriana, after I got her mane detangled. I only lost a little bit of the hair. I'm going to get some leave in conditioner or baby oil into her mane to keep it from doing that dread lock again, that was an ugly mess- 7 different dreadlocks.

She didn't leave Jazz, nor did she allow Bo to come near her. She had a very strong distaste for Bo, but he was being normal and pestering.

Her out in the herd, Jazz was checking my pockets, she thought I had treats somewhere hidden in there. She had no problem with the other mares(and Filly).

Pretty Girls!

She kept checking to make sure Jazz hadn't wandered off somewhere. I'm wondering if she thinks Jazz is one of her babies. Be rather hard, as Jazz is 17 and Ori's 10. She did pitch a fit getting onto the trailer. She's used to being trailered in a stock trailer, not a 2-horse straight load. We all got a few rope burns from the lead rope and finally the guy looked at her and said "Get on that trailer!" she got right up. Arab's are smart, shame mini geldings aren't as smart. We had to swing the divider to the side. Bit odd getting her out too, she didn't want to back off the trailer so she squeezed herself and turned around on the trailer, cut herself a little bit. I put some aloe on them today, I will betadine them and put some swat on them tomorrow.

New Lady

Aunt Lisa and I went to go check out this little mare today. Sherry-Lynn the guy called her-I will change her name. She's the same height as Jazz but way more sturdy built. She's 10 years old, and possibly bred to a Quarter Horse stallion. She's way more pretty in person. I'll probably rename her to Oriana, I've loved that name and so far it's never worked with naming a rabbit that. That and got to stick to the princess theme for names. That's how I had named Jasmine, when Kylie had first taken Jazz on and needed a name. She asked me for ideas of Arabian like names and I thought of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin. Oriana is the princess from Felix the cat. The guy had two of her past babies there, and the one little filly was gorgeous and not exactly that tiny either! Her daddy had been a paint and she was a gray paint. Sorry, no pictures, I didn't even think to ask about taking a few pictures. The above picture is the one the guy had on craigslist of the mare.

I am excited, hopefully soon almost all the horses will be mares. I have decided that mares are probably better than geldings at this point. Phoenix is one exception to that rule, but he's old now. Now I'm just blabbering. A guy is coming to look at Bo on Thursday, see if it's something he wants to train(with the help of his granddaughter) to ride and drive. Bo's been going after Jazz, annoying the crap out of Sundown. Thankfully little Arizona has been Jazz's new friend.

Just a random picture of Jazz out when I had first moved her over to the pasture with the mini's.

Kentucky Horse Park

On the way to the Horse Park.

Their sign, yes, I stopped in the middle of the roadway to take the picture! Love being tourists.

We did get to go in there, but we weren't allowed any kind of electrically driven device(Cell phone or Digetal Cameras) but we were able to get a picture of the sign!

We were able to get on the horse drawn trolley's. Rachel wanted the other trolley because it was a team of two Percherons, whereas these are a Percheron and Belgian team.

We got a guy to take our picture on the chairs.
There was more pictures but I'm dreafully tired and wore out.

Rachel Made It!!

There's Rachel as she's coming out of the Terminal down to where I was waiting. It was both of our first times in Blue Grass Airport.

I brought Rachel with me on Wednesday morning when I went to feed. I brought her in to the sheep pen and she got to meet Ivy, Big Larry, Little Larry and the others. The Larry's and Ivy were the only ones that came up to her. She wanted to see the mini's so we had to go to their dividing fence since they didn't come to the top of the hill that day.

Big Larry getting his head rubbed.

Riding in the truck one day, not sure which one it was. I know we were coming back from Hope- but that's about it.

I was checking Bo's chest, I know he likes to rub his rump but I wanted to check his chest as well, since he appears to be itchy.

It's been a few days but hey, why not. I'm always a bit slow on the uptake. There are a ton of pics that we've taken but these few were the main ones. Today we went to Lexington to the Craft stores(and were sadly upset about them, A.C. Moore was 100x better.) and Rachel wanted to stop by this Palm reader too. Sadly neither of us took cameras or anything.
