Nice outside

I was outside today while it was nice out and took a bunch of pictures.

Here's the pictures of the bunnies

This baby is Franklin, one of Sophie's boys

and this is Felix, the two brothers left from Sophie's litter

And I tried to get a picture of the babies when I had a couple of them poking their heads up over the edge of the box.

Big Adventure out side the box. I set this little kit outside the box, while I was sexing the others. 6 bucks, 3 does.

Picture update

So I did a little picture taking today. Had to check the baby bunnies eyes to make sure they were all clear of gunk and open.

Size comparison, 20 oz bottle, 13 day old baby.
All 9 have eyes open and squirming like there's no tomorrow

HEhehehehe squirmy babies, I had to cut the video short before babies fell off the tub.

LL's Cher, the doe from Lucy that she couldn't get bred and she didn't want to waste anymore space and time trying to get her bred. I'm going to try getting her to conceive and show her a little bit. She's a very nice doe.

THis is Peter, he's the little buck that Lucy offered. He has one Junior leg towards Grand Champion. I'm not as thrilled with him, but let's see what happens as he molts in the spring.

This is Jordan's Huella, Felicity's mom. She's decent, but much better for a brood doe. She's already visited Speedle so maybe should have some kits in a month. Tractor Supply will be happy if I get all 7 of the does to raise kits.

The horses ate the round bale in a bowl like fasion. I thought it looked neat. I thought about sitting in until the horses came back to munch, but was worried if I couldn't get back up, being deeper than it looks.

Pheonix and Tessa were laying down for a nap, leaving the blind horse to stand watch . . . sounds like a plan guys!

Cold Furry Day

Aragorn's a lucky man. Today he took a trip to go visit Rosie.
Here's the two in Aunt Lisa's x-pen. Can you tell which one is which?

Rosie's on the left-see the dewlop? Aragorn's on the right- he's a deeper red color right now. Once spring molt is over they'll be the same color again.
Rosie decided sitting still for the camera wasn't as fun. She decided she'd like to see what was on top of the pen.

Aragorn sitting on top Rosie's cage. She should kindle around February 21st.

Jazzy after eating her breakfast. Just looking out at the snow.

Phoenix had to go check Tessa and Sherralyn's food buckets.

Tessa checking Phoenix's bucket. Everyone has to check everyone else's food buckets.

Baby's a'growin

Taken this morning, all 9 are gettin furry and big! 8 Days old!
Big Baby!

And a quick shot of the horses, they are a herd now, they all stick together
Sorry about the short posting, I just wanted to toss the pictures of the babies out there so my aunt knows what to expect eventually!

Decent Day Outside.

I took the baby Velveteen, which I ended up calling Oriana, and her brother Felix, with me to Tractor Supply to go get my foods and get the truck out to run. It was their first time away from home and they seemed to enjoy it. The baby blanket underneath them is the bunny blanket to put down in the cart so they don't have to sit on the hard plastic cart
I took the horses blankets off today so their fur could get some air and I could see what Jazz and Phoenix looked like under neath them. Jazz looks about normal for winter-thin. I haven't figured out the key to getting her to keep weight. Beat Pulp isn't working too well.

Sherralyn's trailer ride isn't going to show up until the 22nd due to the trailer ride. We couldn't confirm a date with the transport until her Coggins came back.

Jazz and Tessa together. Tessa's been staying with Jazz-alot

Phoenix and Tessa will eat together now. He doesn't bother her much anymore, unless food's involved but Phoenix is protective of his food. I Love seeing them together, such a pretty pair of Quarter Horse Look-a-Likes.

This is one picture I took this morning that I *adore* . Now if only I could get Phoenix in there next to them.

Fun stuff

Here's Sherralyn from a couple days ago, I didn't take any this morning, the cold and the camera weren't being friends, but the Vet came out this morning to draw the blood for the coggins and do the health certificate, as soon as the coggins report comes back. She should trailer out on Sunday. The little lady is going to live in Ohio, with a shorter family that has raised foals in the past, and her new family will break her out to saddle. She's been a gorgeous girl and once I know she'll be well loved. Amanda promises to keep me up to date on her for a while.

This is one of Sherralyn's feild companions above and the other below, a pair of driving Halfliner Mares.

AND the best news was Trisha had a litter or 9 Red New Zealands late on January 11th, and they are surviving the cold just fine.
I didn't want to take them out and check them over inch for inch because of the cold I will do that in a few days as they get a little fur and it gets warmer. So I'll probably sell a few of them, and raise the others for dad.

Better Picture of the babies to come. Hopefully they can stay hanging on in this cold. But they seemed nice and warm this morning. Mommy did a fine job pulling hair to keep them warm, and not giving herself a bald spot.

Gearing up with the Buns and the ponies

There's my little Velveteen Baby and her brother. Their color has come in nicely. They'll be black tort, not tortoise.

I got one spot boy to sit nicely for me. I think a show is in his future!

Pheonix still doesn't approve of Tessa much. This was a week ago, and I was trying to get the picture of when the two were standing together, but they moved as I clicked the button. Phoenix now lets Tess get up to 2 feet away from him. He kept getting scolded and didn't like it.

Today Jazz and Tess were together trying to nag some treats from me. Didn't work, no treats for them!

Tess laying down for a nap one morning. Had I gone out half hour later, I would have gotten her flat out on her side-looking like a dead horse.
This posting is mostly for you Rae! I know you'd love the pictures!

Horses

The above picture is from New Years Day. It was rainy so I took Jazz's light blanket and tossed it on Tessa, it fits Tess better than it fits Jazz! So over the summer I shall buy Jazz new blankets and use the old ones for Tessa. Tessa doesn't need the heavy one yet, but that gives me a couple years to get it repaired back up, I'll keep the light one for very rainy/snowy days so she doesn't get soaked. Eventually I plan to build a 2 stall barn up in the back corner.

Today I took Tessa out for a little ground work, so that she knows what I'm asking of her. Everybody trains differently and I have my guys all based out of a Pat Parelli/Monty Roberts/Clint Anderson Natural horsemanship cross.

I do have blue polo's for her legs, I just grabbed the red ones this morning, she'll look far better in blue.

Dad came and took these for me, I was trying to get her to pay attention to me, it worked enough to quit on a good note today.

My western doesn't fit her well. I'm going to try my english saddle on her. If that doesn't fit either I'll probably sell both the black western (unless Aunt Lisa wants it) and the english; then buy a saddle that will fit her.

Phoenix and Jazz had the day down.

After Tessa got let back out and they had finished eating, Sherralyn and Tessa are buddies.

Tessa's on the most work to put her where I want her before she turns 3. Once she turns three I'll start riding her. I'm not in the habit of breaking horses to saddle until they turn three.
