WIndy day at the barn

Well it was beyond too windy to ride, plus the ring was incredibly sloppy so I just wanted to hose off her legs, check that wart as she had scraped it last week and it had been bloody.  It was just muddy today, I rubbed it until it was pinkish, but not bleeding.  Then I washed her tail, and got it conditioned again.  It had started to mat from being dirty.
We grazed until she was dry, I got her wet from the knees down and hocks down.
Nice and fluffy soft tail when she was done!
Then, because I told Perry I didn't mind, I pulled Misty out to try and get her combed out.  Perry hasn't had any time to really give them grooming and Misty's just a sweetie, so I picked her to brush out for him.    We got some of her mane done, it's horribly matted and messy.

And Sara was late, usually she's there by 2 and even by 3:30 she wasn't there yet.  So Spencer was hollering.  I came over and gave him a few cookies to quiet him down.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Didn't get too many pictures for Thanksgiving this time around.  But I managed to sneak a few!
Uncle Jim carving the turkey
Aunt Lisa opened the mini marshmallows for the yams as Uncle Jim carved the turkey.
And of coarse a Paige picture for today!

Exciting weekend so far!

The long weekend from work has started out with a bang, in more ways than one!
First Laying Phoenix to rest and moving Heidi to Tamarack Farms for boarding.

Heidi is settling very well, she came running to the gate for me today and she's looking for a buddy.  She's still got a few days before she goes out with any of the others yet.  They just want to make sure she's clear of anything.
So today I tacked her up, she stood like an angel in the crossties, put her nose on Pepsi's back and just stood there.  And I let her loose in the outdoor arena.  Bit of a mistake was a tad more difficult to catch her and then I put her on the line.  I'd still rather lunge her with the gate closed to the arena, even if she's on a line.  She can rip that line from my hands and I know it.

Then after a couple hours out with her I came home, waited for dad to get home from dropping his deer(see his blog) at a butcher shop to be cut up, and we went out hunting.
I finally got my own deer!!  I am excited!  Jerky, here we come!!!  She's tiny and it blew a HUGE hole.  Amazingly the heart was not gone, lungs on the other hand . . .
Ayden up on top of my mounting block!  He's modeling his new collar from Lupine.

Just pictures!

Ayden-incredibly wore out from his exciting morning!
Marcie x Michelangelo litter of 7 blues!
 Marcie!  She loves her kisses!!
Sucker!!  In ways of window sucker.  It even stayed on there for the truck's test run.
I went over to Aunt Lisa's on the way to pick up my rabbit feed.  Ayden stayed out in the yard with Lady, Piper and Paige and I went around helping Lisa while she did some of her chores.
Cow feeding Time!

Ayden was wore out on the way home, he curled up on the floor of the front seat of the car and snoozed on the way home.

Hay Day!!

Had to go get some hay today for the ponies and the bunnies for the winter.
We had loaded up 60 bales- the two guys there loaded the truck and trailer up!  15 bales went with Aunt Lisa and the last 45 came home with me.  Dad was working on my truck so we took Lisa and Jim's truck.  My it's been a while since I last drove a stick!  It was much smoother as the day went on.

Got the last unloaded, then my bunnies fed super quick and back to bring the truck and trailer home!  I think I left my cell phone in their truck so I'll have to get it on Wednesday when I'm over there to help freezer a few bunnies!

Court Day weekend

This weekend was Court Days.  We set up a yard sale like normal, put out a *new* sign this year.

Then for the first time ever I went out for Early muzzleloader season.  I didn't see anything but it was pretty Sunday afternoon.

I got minorly sunburnt sitting out in the afternoon sunshine but it's nice to feel.  A HUGE vast majority of the sinus headache is gone and I'm sleeping better, so hopefully the next coming work week isn't too bad!

Was much better today!

Took Heidi out today and we seem to be going back to the way we were before.  Before all the mess.  Still didn't stand too good at the mounting block but she's re-learning.

I had a few folks suggest to try a ported bit, and a couple say a French link.  I might start looking into them and see if that might help some.  Probably the French link first, *that* one I should be able to find at the Horse Park in their tack shop. So eventually I have to get back up there before they're closed for the season.

Took Honey for a ride today- That was a VERY interesting.  She's NOT an English pony, most definitely a western pony.  She's got way more 'GO' than 'Whoa', VERY sensitive to leg pressure.  At least I didn't hit the turf.  It was a short ride, we rode around the backyard and front yard.  I wasn't concerned as much at that point that she was going to dump me it was keeping control.  So I've got word out at Tractor Supply for a good home for Honey with someone that'll ride western.

Her trot was smooth at least, I just sat to it, I didn't try to post, I was afraid of being dumped.  Could not touch my legs to her at all, she'd take off.
