Finished the Roark's fence repair and Dutch doe pictures

This afternoon when I finally got myself together Dad and I went over to restring some barbwire on the fence line over at teh Roark's that the tree took down.

The top strand survived the tree falling, so it's still there, hard to tell, but it's still there.  Two new bottom strands are nice and shiney for a little while.

Then I went over to play with my dutchies:

 Kylie liked her close up.
Keisha and her sorta half sibling.  Keisha's mom is Kylie's mother's mom.
All three steel dutch does that I have, the smallest is the unnamed one from Gerharts, the middle is Darcy from the lady in Grayson and then Keisha.

Meet Oprah, the Percheron Mare

So I ahve already started the search for my next riding horse, and Aunt Lisa sent me the craigslist post on her and I set up a time to go see and check her out- still waiting and hoping Tess sells soon.
Her name is Oprah and she's a black Percheron mare.  He's only asking $800 and he'll deliver her.  Yes she still needs a little work, but she was a real sweetie.

She doesn't look that big from a distance.
 Very thick and short neck.
Massive hindquarters, part of it is she's chubby, but part of it is that she's super wide.  Heidi's not even that wide.
REALLY big mare, but I loved her!!!
Now just need to get Tess sold.  If Oprah does come home with me soon, she'll get a name change and a few other things that need to be done.  I cna teach her to not lean when her feet are done, and getting her mane and tail cleaned up.  She has a gorgeous forelock, goes halfway down to her nose.

Ohio trip visit Jess, Ayden and get some Dutchies!!

Well I did go to Gerhart's first.  He's the nationally top ranked Dutch breeder and I picked up a few VERY nice rabbits from him.  Then loaded them up and met Jess somewhere near Hamilton, I guess, for lunch.  We chatted the whole time until I got there.  Both Silver vehicles!

Can you tell which one doesn't belong in Ohio????
Seh brought Ayden with her and he was laying the grass playing while we ate out lunch.  We sat and talked for little over an hour before we heard thunder and decided we'd better hit the road.
The two of 'em!  Surprisingly enough, I know Ayden's an oversized Cocker, but he's not horribly overweight, but boy is he WIDE.  7 inch wide shoulders.  For some odd reason Dizzy's last litter(Ayden's litter) got really wide shoulders.  Even Rachel said Avery(Ayden's sister that Rachel has) has really wide shoulders and is super stocky too.  Freak chance I guess???  None of Dizzy's other pups ever got it, just this last litter, same stud too.  Odd.
Anyway, it was 9 pm when I got home, so the pictures aren't the best:

This is the steel doe I am keeping.  She may not have the bestest markings but she's got the awesome pedigree.  Her markings don't make her unshowable, just they aren't perfect.

This is the blue doe,  she's going to be traded for one of my old blue does.  The youths that have two of my old does said they'd just like something in trade that's equal value.  This doe has the better pedigree and better type, just one little color drag into the back stop that you can see.
This be the only buck I picked up.  He carry's steel and blue behind him, he's a black.  The brown hairs are ones that are molting out.  He's got really nice markings and he'll be going to the show with me in October.
This one is the SUPER nice marked steel doe, she's the one being traded as she doesn't have the background like the other doe I picked up, and she's equal to Keisha  in markings and body type.

I'll have better pictures of them tomorrow.  I took these using a flashlight to illuminate them enough for the camera to focus and use the camera's flash.

Okay I don't know how many of these images are going to show up but right about now, between Blogger and Windstream this has taken me over an hour to get this up here.  Windstream really royally sucks.  We got better service from Wildblue during a Nor-Easter in New York than the way Windstream has been running tonight.  Anyway!

Friday first:
I wanted to make sure MoJo was cool with the horses, so I sat him on each one.

Pheonix was totally fine with it
Tessa Kept moving around on him.

Took a random picture from the barn with the little camera while I was relaxing and doing the bunnies.  Then I went to Tractor Supply to get rabbit feed and also picked up a few other odds and ends, like a Collar for MoJo.
 He might *just* be spoiled.

But at least he's a good kitty.
Then today, first was the Swap Meet at Tractor Supply in Mount Sterling(No camera, it was forgotten) I sold a few more holland lops to make room for the dutch I'm going to go pick up tomorrow in Hamilton Ohio from the nationally top ranking breeder.
Then since dad didn't need my help limbing up the branch in the Roark's feild, I came back and hopped on Phoenix for a little bit.  He lost a shoe a bit ago but I've still haven't gotten a call back from Ryan yet.  Time for yet another farrier.  So I stayed bareback, at a walk and in the soft grass.  It was fun, Pheonix prefers to neck rein, which works fine for me.

Now just hopefully it shows up.  I'll post pictures tomorrow of the new dutchie bunnies and Jess is bringing Ayden to meet for some lunch while I am up there.  I can't wait to see Ayden again, my little boy is growing up so fast!

The wedding and the Travels

Okay, as promised- PICTURES!
I can't post too many pictures from the wedding until Nate and Linds get them.
I couldn't tell you where any of these were taken or if they were from the trip to Olean or from Olean/Hinsdale to Syracuse.

I was at Microtel hotel. It was a nice hotel, other than all the mirrors.  I'm not a big of mirrors.  They are a pet friendly, someone down the hall had a few taco bell dogs.

That's a quick shot of the room.
Of coarse had to check out the local Walmart!  LOL.  They have straight parking spots!  I didn't realize that last night, I parked like I normally do in Mount Sterling- slanted.   Boy that was a minor reality check in the morning when I stopped by there to waste some time, waiting for Linds to get back from her hair appointment.
This is my little gaurdian angel that Connie got me for my birthday.  She has taken up residence in the car for the trip.

This picture I know is taken of one of the finger lakes . . . It was before I got to Geneva but after I had gone past Urbana.  The Finger Lakes confuse me!
This was in Geneva.  It looked neat and I was at a red light.
Lastly is a quick picture of the happy couple.  Lindsay Anne Bishop-Stowell and Nathan Stowell.  I forgot Nathan's middle name, it was all on the fancy invite that is sitting on the dining room table.

No Pictures but trip News!!

I was able to get off this morning, 9:05 I left the driveway.  Not bad, I had intended to be there earlier.  The directions weren't too bad at all, I got to the hotel at 6:20 pm with only 2 gas stops and one stop in Morgantown for bathroom and lunch.
One in Grayson, KY and the other was about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh in some little po-dunk town.  Gas prices were all the same from KY, WV to PA, but NY jumped almost 20 cents a gallon.  Glad I shouldn't need to get any gas in NY.  The hotel is neat, other than these friggin HUGE mirrors all over the place.  If I seriously wanted to see myself that badly, there's always mirrors in the bathrooms.  I'll have to upload a picture of it tomorrow for folks to see.   This mirror above my head is serious 4 feet tall and about 10 feet long at the headboard level/area  Kinda creepy kinda neat.  It's all lonely, I miss Connie and seeing a few other co-workers and no late night walk for me!!  Olean is interesting.  I'll take some pictures tomorrow.  I got here, we checked into my room so I could put my bag in there(Camera bag weighes WAY more than the bag with my cloths and laptop) and then I rode with Nathan over to the Legion post and helped with some more decorations.  I'll be meeting with Linds and her Matron of honor after their hair appointments.  I'll have to take another shower, my hair is such a disaster zone from the drive, I took a shower after settling in for the night and left the conditioner in for almost 10 minutes, and my ahir still came out a bit ratty, so try it again in the morning!  The best thing, they have a TINY breakfast type bar at the hotel is the hotel is next door to Dunkin Donuts!!!!!!  Vanilla Chai Tea, here I come tomorrow!!!  I'll be buzzing.  After the wedding I'll be travelling up to Allen's in Syracuse were I'll upload pictures.

And for dad's entertainment:  Guess what this idiot forgot???  Her TOOTHBRUSH.  Thank heavens for Walmart, it's only 3 miles down the road from the hotel!
