Updating babies

I've made the vendetta to not take anymore pictures of the horses until March 1st.  SO no pictures there.  Dad and I took the three horses out to Alfie's feild to graze.  Jazz was the one that got to go loose, Dad walked near Phoenix but Phoenix's rope was on the ground.  I hung onto Tessa's only because she's a bit more flighty and she was all wound up from where she caught herself in the electric fence earlier today.

Here's Skye's babies.  I've been soo excited with this holland litter, I haven't gotten a sucessful Holland litter in almost 2 years.  I'm probably going to keep two of these guys.
This is the little sable point baby.  No matter what this baby stays.  I ADORE sable points.
Tort baby!  It's larger for some odd reason, hopefully it stays smaller as it grows, Gabriel is it's daddy and he's been a very good show rabbit.

The itty bitty black baby.  Depending on it if grows stray whites like Skye's last black baby.

Amita's babies!  One gray, 3 blacks.  The black at the bottom of the photo was the one that was in with Skye's box for a few days.  All babies are back with their apropriate mommy's now.  The babies and the mothers are all happier now.

Also my poor rubber boots finally died last Wednesday, so Friday morning, when I ran up to Southern States in Mount STerling for Jazz's feed, I picked up a pair of the 'Statesman' brand boots they have at Southern States.  My  old walmart rubber bootsgot a hole right in the back of the heel on my right foot.  the Statesman's, Oh my, they are soo comfy, neoperene and rubber; with a nice cushioned in-sole too.  insulated to keep you warm in winter, cooler in the summer.  I'm glad I spent a little extra on this pair, I probably won't go back to the walmart boots now.  No pictures of them though.  They're already muddy and styaing by the front door.

Not many pictures at all this time.  I've got plenty of bun mommy's bred, so let's see what happens now.  let's see who has babies.  I've got Cher, Helen, Sophie, Gwenyth, Trishy, Kylie and Minnie have all been in with bucks for short limited times so we shall see.

Bun Bunny update

Well Mocha went home to Sheri, Mocha was the first bun I sold in Kentucky, a little chocolate/Seal colored baby out of Poppy.  She's been with me for almost 3 weeks to breed with Arthur.  Was in for 10 days, in a cage of her own until she proved not to be pregnant, and then back with Arthur for 5 days.
This is Mocha:

Sheri's son asked me if I could bring his Chinchilla doe back home and put her in with Arthur, so now this doe is here.  She's gorgeous, but I prefer regular fur Chinchilla over the rex fur Chinchilla.  Arthur wasted no time getting on her!  She'll be going home on Sunday.

I brought this little doe home for myself.  She's an actual blue-Otter.  Sheri just didn't need as many as she had.  She remembered when she sold me Gwenyth(Smokie's sister) that I had wanted a blue otter, and Gwen turned out Opal, not otter and gave me first dibs on Smokie.  I took the chance!  She's going to go to the show with me on Sunday.

I had two sucessful litters born, the dutch litter born on the 20th to Amita; the Holland Lop litter was born 21st to Skye.  I mixed up the babies for a few days just to make sure the holland babies would make it.  These two-tort holland, black dutch are in Skye's box.

These five are in Amita's box.  Sable Point and black holland, 2 black dutch and 1 gray dutch babies.
The dutch babies are for Tractor Supply, one holland might go that way, I'm keeping the sable baby and at least one other, I might keep all three until they show.  I'm switching back the Holland babies over the next couple of days, back to Skye since she's taking super good care of her babies, unlike last year with the single Blaze baby

Lunging Jazz under tack

I had hoped first thing today to get Jazz and Phoenix both out lunging under tack so once their teeth get floated Pheonix can get back out into harder trail riding.
It started to rain so Jazz was the only one to get out.

Blind-side in to me.  Wasn't terribly bad, moved right out as I asked her.

Had a temper tantrum moving out in that direction, as she didn't like blind-side out away.  I kept talkign to her and she eventually moved out nicely.

Letting her nibble a little on the grass, with a loosened girth.

*This* is why I polo her legs when she goes out.  She for some reason 'always' knicks the insides of her legs.  Her's is protection from herself.  Phoenix is for comfort and stability for his arthritic joints and Tessy's is for support to her growing legs.
See Rachel?  Those red ones that you had picked up for me- Originally for Bo, I had asked for mini sized, but you couldn't find them, so I kept them anyway, come in handy.  They fit Tessy perfectly, and Jazz too.  The Blue ones I picked up for Tessy are beyond too big for her, but they'll fit Phoenix.  I have green ones that are even smaller than the red ones.  Comes from different brands I guess.  I use the green ones on Jazzy and Tessy too.

We shall start doing more bending excercises to loosen up those stiff wintered muscles on all three horses.  Few minutes on each one every morning, they should limber and loosen back up by early to mid March.  Then Phoenix out under saddle(hopefully- Depends on when his teeth get floated)  and Tessy will be out under saddle/bareback in April.

Had to Test the New Camera

Jess had asked for a newer Digetal Camera for her birthday, I found an affordable one on Craigslist so I set up a time to pick it up. Then found out that it wasn't a Canon Powershot like she wanted, so I gave the camera to mom for her birthday instead(Little past her birthday but it works) so now she can take pictures and it's more simple than mine. It's the Olympus version of Dad's Pentax camera.
Had to test it , so after I got home with it, I went out for evening feed:

Full zoom, not so hot. Needed a tail shot for Aunt Lisa though. big thick tail on this girl. Need to get a brush like the one Lisa has for Tessa's tail!
Almost full zoom. Nice color, the wind moving me and Jazz moving didn't help terribly much

Again almost full zoom, but I was in the barn, so no wind blowing me around.

Very little zoom, I love the detail lookof the moisture around the eyes.

Not taken with the camera, but it is of the *new* camera

Again of the *new* camera. It seems to work fairly decent, will do what mom needs it to do. It does run on 2 AA batteries, but has the XD card like mine.
I took way more pictures than this with it, but it was taking too long to upload too many more.
*can you guys which horse is my photogenic one?*

More horsie pictures

Jazzy's turn to make the other's jealous! She went out in Alfie's front part, as you can see.

She's looking a lot better now that she's on a different reccomended feed. her eye has gotten bad again so I put her flymask on and she actually moves about more now that the sun isn't beaming in her eye.

Tessa stood by the fence hollering to Jazz and me

Eventually she gave up and went back to Phoenix

Spring's coming!

Well, firstly, sorry this is a bit picture heavy. I decided to just take a bunch of pictures while it was nice out and I had the day off from work.

Here is Father and two of his sons. Parker, Matrix and Felix from left to right.

Sophie and her daughter, Oriana.

Lots of group shots, sorry. I thought it was neat to group them up. This one is Amita with her steel daughter Keisha(Chris' daughter) and her blue grand-daughter Kylie(Sam and Mimzy's daughter, Mimzy is Amita and Larry's daughter)

I missed Syd on this photo, didn't even think about him. Colby sr, Colby's son Colby Jr, and Colby's grand daughter Rachel(Colby and Cocoa Bean's son, Vamp produced Rachel with Misty). Syd's also a Grandson (Chris x Neena-Kitty x Colby)
Only exciting news is Amita has been bred to Syd for babies, and she's due this coming week, as is Skye to Gabriel. None of the mini rex took so Gwenyth has been re-bred and White Gold is next month.

Baby nose next to Momma's nose. It was cute. Some of the babies will be weaned out tomorrow.

I had to do a few size comparisons with oen of the babies. It's one of the middle sized babies and I used the same poor 20 oz Mt. Dew bottle that has been out in the barn for a while. I used to bring hot water out with the bottle, now it just gets tossed around by bunnies in the x-pens

Cut one end off, I might be able to fit the baby in the bottle . . .

But not this way.

Now onto the horses . . .
Dad and I took Phoenix and Tessa out to hand graze on some exposed green grass in the feild over at Alfie's.

Dad had "Pops" as dad was calling him, I call him my old man, Pheeny or Phoenix. He's soo fuzzy still. I have to get him a lighter blanket like what Tessa has now that it's warming up. He doesn't need that super nice thick heavy blanket anymore.

And "baby" Tessa. She's looking super great now. The two were jumpy as all heck, but a few nights ago I listened to Coyotes from way back on the hill howling like crazy, the band down the road were going too. I can see why they were jumpy.

Jazz cried the whole time the two were gone, Phoenix returned her cry once, but once Tessa joined Phoenix out back, the two didn't seem to care about her. Tessa would look up at her a few times through the trees. Tomorrow morning I take Jazz out there, start some lunging excercise so she builds back up as she gains her weight back. Even though it was chilly outside today, I took her blanket off as well. She's gaining weight back.

Baby Pictures!!!

Sorry had to share pictures, Soon Rosie will have cute little one running around too.
