Bored so Catching back up

Well i's kind of boring here at night, especially with no new episodes to my tv shows(Now that I'm watching 5 of them) so I've been watching the seasons over on my favorite episodes. Well all but two of the Shows. NCIS and Flashpoint I don't own on DVD(Flashpoint hasn't even been released yet) But CSI Miami and NY and Numb3rs I have all the current seasons on DVD. I've also done several Disney/Dreamworks marathons(Shrek 1-3, The Little Mermaid 1-3-all dog/cat/animal sets), just so that their is noise in the background.

The poor livingroom smells funny now. I got the tree out and vaccuumed the needles up, but there's still a strong pine smell. So to try and counter the pine smell I went and grabbed the "spiced pumpkin bread" scented spray and squirted that some, so now it's a pine-pumpkin smell.

Oh well no pictures today, Just a bored rant. It's too cold to play outside with the horses and the rabbits, I've got way too many bred out to play with the girls. I can play with the boys but they've started to spray each other if I take one out. Amita's bred to Matt, Skye's bred to Gab, Calliegh is bred to Blaze, Angie is bred to Speedle, Neena's bred to Colby.

Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo) my lover from CSI NY. I love his character, he's just soo me.

Colby Granger (Dylan Bruno) From Numb3rs- He's my favorite out of the four guys.(His actor and his character have rabbits named after them. Those Hazel eyes. . . *drools*

Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) from Flashpoint- my newest hottie. Can always look you know. Blue eyes, nice body. Boy I sure can dream, can't I?

And lastly is Ryan Wolfe (Jonothon Togo) from CSI Miami. Got to like the ones with blue/green or hazel eyes.

Being this a useless post, I haven't picked a favorite from NCIS yet. I've just started watching it now. But I'm working on it. At least it's down to McGee or Abby being my favorite. Tony isn't my style. I don't think anyway. I've got to get the prior seasons and watch it from the begining. Anyway, sooo useless, soo pointless. I'm just ranting here.

Hey everyone, getting a bit bored, it's getting ready to rain out(though it's almost 50 out) but the cold is coming right behind it all. I've got a few pictures of the horses to upload tonight, will update with photo's tonight.

Well I did bareback Pheeny for half hour-give or take. It's really too slushy and slick out there. No pictures, no one was there to take pictures. One of these days I'll actually get around to getting the tree down while no one is here. The horses were un blanketed today cause it was around 50 and it was still warmer this evening so I also left them in their stalls without them.

Horsie ppics

The three were very happy to be back inside tonight. They couldn't stay in last night because the water pipe had frozen and I couldn't get them water. I pulled their blankets off for some grooming.

Let it snow, let it snow.

First this deep snowfall and now more coming! AHHHH.
Also, we're looking at another deep snow storm today, Yeah!! I get to drive in MORE snow. Really if you guys want some of this, you're more than welcome to it. A foot for Christmas and then it can melt down to like 6 inches for the rest of winter would be awesome. But Phoenix loves the snow, he was trotting and cantering in it, Jazz was being a lazy mare and only would trot. A few others trotted but Phoenix wanted to kick up his heels. I got some pictures of dad and Rachel cleaning snow too, but blogger is being a bit stupid and won't let me upload pictures of the horses, so I'll have to try that later. Though I didn't get any of them trotting/cantering, I was trying to get the stalls mucked out.

But Dad and the snow blower, Rachel helped me clean off cars since Allen wouldn't get out of bed.

Enjoy!!!

Horrible Horrible Snow

It's snowing outside right now, 8-10 inches, at least my truck looks completely white again. The poor horses went in early today and I left them with extra water buckets and extra hay since the weather was going to turn even worse. I shall post even more pictures of the horses tomorrow once they go out again in the foot-plus of snow. Pheeny loves the snow, he likes to run around in it. So I'm going to turn him out before I put the hay out, see what happens with the camera in hand.
From last weekend:

Yes, two of Jazz :) I love my Jasmine girl.

The Bunnies are all also very awsome. I should be spring breeding soon. I've got Three holland does(Night Skye, Calleigh, Angelique), my mini rex doe(Poppy) and I might breed the velveteen Doe(Cater) to one of the boys for colorful babies- Most will be sold as pets for Easter, Rachel and I work with a friend that has baby bunnies for pet shops. I might bred out a pair or so of the dutch but Amita's already had her litters for me this past summer and her two daughters, Lizzy and Robyn (Lizzy's technically on hold for a girl in Hudson Falls, but she hasn't returned my e-mails lately) The boys from that litter are all four sale, only four of them. The baby of a different color is a blue tort(very rare color) and he actually doesn't belong to that litter, he's a week older than my babies and it got very cold, Rachel lost a whole litter of dwarves(we had a very cold snap) so I took Uno(only baby that stayed alive in Misty's litter of dutch) and put him in with my babies because it's heated so he's staying with me for the winter. I'll sell all my bucks but Uno will be staying with the two Does, until he or my girls come of breeding age, or Uno develops his manelyhood, then I have to figure out how to seperate him from Lizzy and Robyn.

First Real Winter storm!

We got clobbered today/last night. Ice/sleet/snow/freezing rain. Boy that was a chore to drive in, both to and from work. I didn't slide, first time really taking a rear wheel drive out in the winter weather. The horses all(well all but three bad boys) stayed inside all day; Jazzy, Phoenix, Cami as normal were in, but I also brought in Beauty and Eeyore. Spudley, Jody, and Dakota stayed out. Spudley used to come in but he decided that he was going to kick me because I didn't bring him in before Jazz. He's always gone in last so I got peevved and left his sorry butt outside. I know these pictures are dark. The first really dark one is a tree across the road. It came down about four hours or later after the storm cleared up, the next one I took standing outside the rabbit shed up to the moon. I love the way the ice covered branches and the moon light shown on each other. To think, three days ago it was 50 something degrees and raining I had to take the blankets off the horses so they didn't overheat, and now it's below 35, icing, and snow crap.

I took a few pictures of the horses on those warmer days and this way you can actually see how they're looking.

Naturally, when they go out tomorrow, I'll get pictures of them in the snow for everyone, not to mention the icicles hanging on the barn.

Worldly Travels!

Well not really worldly. Thanksgiving was just a big dinner, I missed out on all the fun in Ky! But I still had the whole week off from work and got to play with Pheonix and Jazz all week, besides trying to find some more deer to eat.

Gotta update ya'all on Phoenix, Jazz and the bunnies!!
Phoenix has put on weight, his withers have filled in alot:

I didn't feel like getting butt shots of him fo you to see his hindquarters, he looks like a massive QH (like he should) now and he's soaking up the nice hay and plenty of grain. I might end up cutting him back just a hair so he's not a preggy gelding by spring.

Cami(Camille-Gena's 27/28 year old QH) literally lost a tooth this morning. It appears to have rotted out of her head- From all the research I've done on why, it was probably from poor diet in the past. Poor girl, we're moving her to a softer feed that she can actually eat alot easier than the 12% she's on now. She's moving to a senior feed(Which I had told Gena she needed to be on before but ended up with 12%) that's going to have to stay warm to keep it palatable.

Tooth:

But, pictures of all three (I call Cami my own, She responds to my voice, not Gena's):

And Naturally, my babies which I couldn't live without(Other than the big fourlegged ones): the bunnies! It's gotten colder, I'll be getting their monthly pictures done this weekend so I'll have to post a few of them up this weekend, all 20 something of them would be difficult. (THough it'll probably be my dutchies- they're my Favs! Blues and Torts all the way!) Aunt Lisa, if you happen to find a Dutch breeder around you, that has blues or Torts(Prefer Torts, I've got a lot of Blues right now) with pedigrees if you could find out how much they are(Or their numbers, I can call them), I'm going to have Dad pick one up(it'll have to be a sight unseen for me) and he said he'd bring it home after Christmas for me this way I know I don't have that bloodline, it's not terribly local that way. I've got Jess to agree to bring me a Blue doe from Ohio in March/April, so a Tort Doe out of Kentucky would be great to go along side my breeding/showing prospects.

Finally!!!

Poor Pheeny finally got the twine cut off, Dad had to help me make the clips actually work, so now I've got to get the straps to tighten up so they hold securely. I also got the tag made for his halter-which he now has a nice pretty green one. I put tags on them so that Gena's Grand nieces don't play with my two horses, mostly beceause Jazz has kicked children and Pheeny bites them. I'd rather my horses don't pick up any bad habits if they play with them.

You can see Pheeny's pretty tag, I wouldn't put a purpleish pink heart, so I got a circlular golden tag.

I had to switch over to the floor buckets for water since those are heavy rubber and I can always flip them over and stomp on them to break the water/ice out. I've also turned the heater on for the rabbits, though it's not really warm warm in there, it's around 40 degrees to keep the bottles thawed. Not much else, I'm going to get pictures tomorrow of Jazz and PHeeny(and Pheeny's blanket now that there is no twine holding it on.). and I could post more tomorrow.

Last thing, Dad got another one! Button buck, I had to 'scratch' his head to find the antlers, but this does fill the doe permit(backtags for bucks with 3 inch antlers, anything smaller has to be taken with a doe permit).

BUURRR

Well the high's haven't been coming out of the mid 30's. I ended up putting Jazzy's and Phoenix's winter blankets on them. I found out that Phoenix's blanket is missing it's belly straps. It's a Turtle with completely detachable belly straps. Bailing twine has it's uses after it gets cut off the bales . . .

Well my hands look like crap now from the cold and the constant washing they get at work. It's not pretty when you've got to sleep with Neospoirin on your hands (and gloves) My holland babies sold last weekend, they live in a show home in Ballston Spa now. Today we (Rachel and I) ventured down to walk Scylerville's main drag and we stopped in a teeshirt print shop(Also does Embrodiery) a Thrift shop, a used book store and then finally into the small Equine consignment shop. I ended up with two saddle pads for my western and options to get a cheap english saddle (Around $100) So Hopefully sometime early next year I'll get an english saddle.

Add to the Herd

I met up with Rachel at the auction, she was down getting a goat- she's going to use the goats to keep her rabbits a bit warmer this winter instead of buying a heater and something to fuel it with. I ended up meeting some guy down there, that had to buy back his three rabbits because the meat buyer was going to get them otherwise. I had gone down to see Rachel, Michelle and Cindy, a spot away from our two houses to meet up and just hang out, typically Saturday night is Auction night. I don't go often, sometimes just for the 'junk'. Found some really nice things for dirt cheap. He asked me if I was looking for any, he'd give them to me. I told him I really didn't have room for any, but he was insistant and I ended up bringing his two does home, both Mini Rexes one Blue and one Tort that I called Johanna(Blue) and Gwyneth(Tort). I refused the buck obstinently-I've got a male, a nice pedigreed blue boy. Gweeny and Jo look like decent showable does, so I'll hang onto them as long as I can this winter before rehoming them. So long as I can hold them until spring, I'll show them, if not I'll rehome them with some younger kids that want pets. They've got to share a cage, and I had to put two of my does in a cage together-which I had planned on doing anyway. Kitty(Tort Dutch) and Jolene (Broken Blue Holland Lop) are both old and both having trouble holding weight so I put them together to keep each other warm. If I loose any this winter, then I can seperate Gweeny and Jo.

Had a warm spell so I've had the blankets off the big four legged children, They look dirty cause the ground is soo mushy from all the rain.

First Snow Fall !!!!!!

It snowed for the first time up here, already. Naturally didn't stick, but it was still snow. I can't wait for the real stuff to actually get here. The sooner it gets here, the sooner it goes and the green can come back.

My truck didn't get to see it, it was in Glens Falls at work and Glens Falls only saw pouring cold rain all night. *sigh* poor truck, it's missing all the fun. Dad's truck sat all night at home, cause dad had the car at work, so at least his truck saw it. I saw alot in the shadowy area's on the ride home, but didn't have my camera with me to take some pictures- sorry.
The horses weren't so amused with the snow, or the heay frosts we've been getting. Phoenix took one look at it the first morning we had the heavy frost and planted his feet, almost refusing to leave his stall.

Doesn't Pheeny look amused??

Hahahaha, Jazz doesn't seem to care one way or another but I've had her for almost two years now(Thanksgiving will be two years :) )

Ride TIme! Lots to update

Well, as I have now learned where the transmission is and the fact that it was a rebuilt inside it's old caseing(typical R&R) I didn't bother to climb under the truck and take a picture of it. But, I did get two bumper stickers to go with my 'Good Thoughts' sticker.

This morning was my first ride on Phoenix, I went up to Walker's and got his bit yesterday, he rides in a Kimberwick(Kylie thinks he might settle down and his mouth may soften for a D-ring eventually) We were out for about 45 minutes, walk trot(mostly) and a short canter. Boy my legs felt kind of like Jello. I haven't ridden for a while. Michelle came with me, taking Jasmine out. Phoenix is already Coggins'd for the fair next year, but I have to get Jasmine done in the spring so Michelle can take her to the fair, they could fairly well together at the Gymkhana, she's got the spunk.

We know the saddle that Michelle is using is too small for her, but she forgot her own and She used what was available. Next weekend she's going to bring her's which fits Jazz just like it fits Red (Rachel's gelding that she has ridden as well.)

As for bunny pics, I got a few, naturally, of the babies :) They are getting bigger, couple more weeks until they get weaned and then sold. *sniff* I'll miss that little Holland buck baby, he's just soo friendly. One buck, one doe Hollands (The grayish baby with the black mommy is the boy, the other is a female baby), the dutch, I've been through them, and I've left myself enough room to keep at least one female from that litter, if not two. Since I sold their dad and I have two other Blue males I want to keep two of them so I have three females that are not related to the two males.

There actually is six dutch babies, you can only see five of them, since one was playing on top of mommy Amita. Skye is such a strong mother, she keeps her kids in line so well and all of her children have always been so well behaved, That's probably one of the reasons I like her so much. She may not be the friendliest rabbit, but she has good mothering skills and she does show fairly well.
