Oriana/Spudley Comparisons & Tessa Pictures!!!

Compare the two, slightly different stances. Oriana's still purdy though.
After putting Oriana up to breed standards late last night, I have fully decided that she's not Arabian. If matched to Spudley(the Liver Chestnut gelding in the second picture) is a Registered Morgan gelding, Oriana matched right up to Morgan standards. She's a small Morgan at 14 Hands(Spudley was 14.1HH). Okay, so I have a Bay Arabian, a Gray Morgan, a Solid Red Dun Appaloosa, and a Golden Dun Quarter Horse.

Tessa!

Her sock marking, I LOVE the little dots down by her right rear hoof. Only markings on her body other than her face.

Stunning Mane! She's a Golden Dun, thanks to the dorsal strip, Buckskins don't have them, but I do like the duns for their manes!

Another face shot. She was licking me up and down so it was a tad difficult to get pictures.

Her face again, she was licking my fingers after the treats that I had in my pocket.

This was the only distance shot I got, that was just as she noticed me entering her pasture. Right now she's 14 HH, but her rump is still four to five inches higher than her shoulders, giving her room to grow. Once they balance, she'll be at full height. I have a few pictures of Tessa's mother, a gorgeous roan paint, and of their buckskin gelding pasture mate one of his back. He has a very sparse mane-thinner and more sparse than Pheonix's!

Nothing Major, Just pictures

I haven't had a lot of time to do anything much between work and just not enough time for much of anything. I spent most of the morning out with the horses, just brushing them today.

*Who's* truck is this again? It's starting to look like the Girls' truck.

CAUGHT!
Oriana had to see what this was all about, and to clean up the mess Jazz had made eating the treats.

Jazz itching my nice clean grooming.

Oriana just after her grooming, I hadn't even removed the halter yet. I gave her the choice of letting me pick up her back feet or letting me use the clippers on her halter path. She chose the feet. So we'll keep working on the clippers and keep pushing with the feet.
Heidi and Phoenix weren't bothered by being brushed, had to go back to swatting flies off each other.
Hopefully tomorrow I can post a GOOD post of going to see Tessa and height taping her and brushing her see what I think of her. Thinking of Tessa, I have to go call Micheal see if I can.

BreyerFest!

This car says it all!!

This is the Irish draft O'Leary's Irish Diamond. This was the best picture I was able to get, my camera wasn't doing terribly great.

And Elizabeth Shatner's All Glory. Just look at that tail!

I don't recall much about the fresians, other than this guy was drop dead gorgeous.

The air thingy outside. It has a name, but I don't recall what it was.
I will continue to upload more photos as I go through them and see what is seeable. It was very dark in there and MANY photos didn't come out.

Peaceful sorta Day

The tomato plants are doing wonderfully! I guess the fertilizer is working well, two of the cages are bent at least. We will have to figure out a different method next year for the tomato cages.

I was finally able to use my swimsuit today, I never did jump out of the boat, but I got wet at the launch with the little fish nipping at my legs. It was stormy out at Cave Run Lake. I was able to get this picture when we had stopped so dad could jump out of the boat. You can see the rain in the background.

This is Nessa, she's a Blue English Spot, I will be picking her up in August when I take a weekend trip up to Penn. They are a much leaner meat rabbit, but also love to hop and move, they are quite entertaining to see on the show table. I will hopefully try to show her to see how she does. Cindy's Spots are the best in the North East.

This is the buck, he's named after a Flashpoint character, Micheal Scarlatti AKA Spike. He's a lilac. There is a Lilac doe that I am going to get, this one will be sight unseen unless Cindy happens to text me down a picture of the other doe.

Phoenix and Oriana seem to be much better together, he still doesn't let her under the horse port with Heidi when he's with Heidi but at least the two will graze near each other. I had to pull burdocks out of Oriana and Heidi's manes and forlocks. I wonder where they are going to pick those up. I'm just glad they didn't get them in their tails. I can only image what what would have been like to clear out of those tails- thickest two in the feild.

Heidi let me take a picture of her's. Of coarse I think she was trying to see if posing would get her more cookies-it did of coarse. Oriana didn't like being seen with them and she let me yank them from her head. Heidi let me work them out gently. I will have to go on a Burdock plant hunt next Sunday. I have a faint idea(creek bed) were they might have picked them up, so hand saw and I will be friends on Sunday. The only part of that is I don't understand why Jazz doesn't have any. I know Jazz will go down into the creek area, but she was clear of them. HHMMMM very puzzling bunch.

Everythings Okay

Well since we don't know when Josie's due, Aunt Lisa had me move Oriana and Jasmine over with Heidi and Phoenix. Took Phoenix a little while to let Heidi near Oriana and naturally they all plum ignored Jasmine. While I was there, this was the closest the foursome got. They got better as the evening went on.

This is one picture I got off Aunt Lisa's computer, since my camera couldn't take those kinds of distance shots we asked Uncle Jim to do it with his camera.

Oriana's got nice leg movements, I posted one of Jazz from a couple winter's ago to try and compare movements.

This is Jazz from January 2008, her first winter with me, I was lunging her back then to work on her fitness levels. Oriana and Jazz both have the same nice leg movements, I probably could get Oriana trained for English flat like Jazz, but unless I find a kid to show her, she'll never see the show ring.

This is White Gold, my Poppy baby that was bonded back to Poppy. She's not with Poppy at this moment and won't be for any time now. I took her out of her cage on one hotter day and the dog across the road went nuts for some reason and White Gold leaped from my arms and hit the barn board that was on the floor. She literally broke her hock so I'm going to splint it and see if I can heal it back up and then bring her in to get spayed. I've splinted some rescue's before so I know it'll work, she'll never be a show rabbit, just a pet from here out. Leah's knee is starting to come back in, but the foot is still to the outside, I think it'll come around with a little more time and a bit more tying the hocks together- if she'll leave it alone. But some positive news is Pippin's leg was only sprained when he opened his cage and took himself a little jaunt around the barn. He's back to hopping on it, I still message it daily and play with his legs. Just keeping a watch on them, hoping and praying for the day that I'll go into the barn and seeing all three of them hoping around like nothing had happened. *Sigh* Someday.

Bun Bun update

I cleaned up the bunny side and gotmy big water tub out. Most of the pellet bedding that was in the tub is now under the cages, some spread around the floor, but it'll break down on it's own.
As you can see it's under the cages, and yes, Blaze now lives in a X-Pen and he's quite happy, it's almost completely shavings below him, with the exception of two boards near the front. He can't dig his way out either, I made sure of that.

He's looking a lot better since I put him down there a week ago, he actually has the energy and the drive to hop around the barn. I don't mind letting him loose while I'm working, he doesn't stray far from me.

He sat on the doorframe and looked out, never hopping out. Got the other bunnies riled up that he was hopping around, heard a few thumping their cages and Wordy was running circles in his cage.

Oh So Lovely Rain!!!

I took a quick run over this morning in the rain, I had gotten up early enough so I could make the run and pull off the girls and Phoenix's fly masks and wash them. Girls are nice and wet and much cooler.
Can see Oriana's star marking now! I seem to have an affinity for star markings, Jazz and Phoenix both have only star markings. Oriana's got star, stripe and snip plus 3 socks. *Smile* I'm getting better.

I went ahead and taped Leah's hocks together it pulled her knee into the place it needed to, so hopefully, so long as she leaves it alone, the rest of her foot *might* come back around or her knee is a lost cause. I have gotten ahold of Marilyn and she is doing the re-breed with Leah's parents so I will be getting another doe from her. Rachel wants a pair from her as well, so I'll get to drive to WV again! Yee Haww!
Sorry not much of an update but I am trying to get this done before I go to work. Being speedy!

4Wheeling on the 4th

Uncle Jim's version of a 4-wheeler!

Dad giving Aunt Cathryn instructions on how to drive the wheeler

The startup!

Sorry about Grandma and My comments! Slow and steady wins that race Aunt Cathryn!!! And no worries, gravity will help you going down the hill.

We had a big picnic type lunch for the 4th and for Aunt Lisa's birthday. Aunt, Cathryn, Aunt Anne, Cousin Marianne and her friend Ashley, Gracie, Charlie, my sister Jessica, dad, mom and myself all were there. was a bit hot and muggy but for the most part we were able to keep cool. Best part was I think everybody had fun!

Bunnies Moved!!

The starting of the shelving unit, we had a few minute break because the hammer wasn't being nice to dad's finger. I took a quick picture. Looks like a cattle chute, doesn't it?

No more delay so no more time thought to take any pictures, almost drove off without a finished picture! Bad me. Well here's the one side with everyone(and yes I know exactly who's where). There's still a little shuffling to do to get everyone into good spots and to put a little more organization to them.
Top row: Speedle, Lana and Desiree, Syd.
Middle row: Sam, Rachel and babies, Colby
Bottom row: Popcorn and White Gold, Skye, Gabriel, Blaze is still stacked in the corner.

and the holder is now full and super sturdy. Mimzy and Keisha are on top, Jules and Lindsay in the middle and right now it's just Amita on the bottom, but that will change tomorrow when Rachel goes over and joins her.
Not that many people know each bunny by name, at least many of you know them by breed or their fur type.

Bunny Cage Holder

The crude beginings of the cage stand. one cage that's empty at this moment is our helper, Grandma was supervising in the shade. This stand will hold three of those cages.
Chainsaw is our friend! Feed bags are wonderful garbage bags.

Grandma watching Dad chainsaw some more of the partical board for the shelving.

Finished and in the barn. Tomorrow the other cages will make their way over there to be placed in their place. While we didn't get the other shelving put up, we shall do that tomorrow morning and their cages will just have to sit stacked a little longer. We got off to a later start because dad was still mowing when I got there and He's the one that knows the chainsaw, I do not.
I still bent 4 of the nails. We used finish nails to put the cross beams into place. 3 on each end, so 6 per board. I don't know what it really is, I know part of it is the hammer, I'm used to a thicker handle than what I have(Allen has the hammer I am used to).
Oh well, at least it's there, and in place, ready for cages! Part one of Phase two is in progress.

Hoep bunny update, Leah's romp

Just a random picture of Oriana trotting towards me. Gotta love the flies!!

I took Parker out to take a picture of him. He's starting to look Tort-Otter, not just Tortiose, but I'll see what other breeders say.

This is baby Timmy. I had been holding him for Samantha and he's been over in the Hope barn, but Samantha doesn't want him anymore so He'll be listed on Craigslist and on my rabbitry site as for sale.

I had Leah outside loose, before I brought the x-pen over. She hopped around the barn and never ran away from me. I could out run her anyway because of her bum leg.

So exhausting running around that barn, had to stop in the shade.
