Minor pictures from Vacation

I'm just going to OVER load the pictures, and I'll try to explain them as I'm going:
Michelle, myself and Rachel taken at Landmark Motel- where we did a 'girls night'
Went here in hopes of finding bridle parts and pieces, other drafty things for Heidi- sadly they were a disappointment, no draft horse stuff.
I got HOT DOGS that I'm coming home with.  2 packs for dad, 2 packs for jess and a small brick of cheese for Allen.  I was very pleased with the haul I got there.
Stopped by and saw Gena and the old farm-boy do I miss it!
Stopped and saw the Neighs, all but 1 of the kids are present.
The old house, it'll only be there for another week or so.  They sold the trailer itself and it's set to move soon.
Cindy looking in on Chase, Michelle just got Red and Keiffer settled for the night.
Michelle and Keiffer.  He's certainly her pony- like Heidi is mine.
 Red and Chase
 Leaving Argyle Saturday night!
Sunday was down to meet John, the critters(and non furry kids) and visit with Kylie

Logan:
Miss Amber on a close up
Kylie hadn't been out to see her in a little while and had some fun
Even got over the cross rail
Then I got on for a little bit.  Oh how it made me miss Heidi so much!
At least Amber let me love on her, I relaxed some.
I did posting trot with stirrups!!!

I did even trot without stirrups.  Kylie's saddle and stirrups were VERY comfortable- but I guess that's what you get with a $3500 saddle that's custom fitted for your horse.
Here I sit in a Quality Inn, much thanks for Allen, relaxing, updating but we saw this as we got settled in.

Lettuce Gone

Well yesterday was a slow day- oh heck everyday is a slow day when it's that hot, humid and hazy out!  But later in the evening when the sun had disappeared behind the clouds we pulled up the lettuce so dad could mow and till it's area.

I didn't get any pictures of it tilled up afterwards.  I was still too wet from bathing the horses.

After their baths they were much cleaner and cooler.  They've been covered in sweat for days and doing whatever they could to get the sweat off of them- including rolling in the drainage ditch.  So quick baths and I kept cold water to them until I felt the shoulder and haunches start to cool down.  I also braided Heidi's mane down to keep it up off her neck maybe keep her neck a tad bit cooler

Blackberry picking!!

As a few folks saw before The first time I saw the blackberries I got some HUGE scraps on my legs climbing back through the barb wire.

So today, I took Jess and the 4-wheeler over and we picked mom and Jess a BUNCH of blackberries!

Well anyone want's blackberries, come pick some!  We didn't even get 1/4 of them, plus there's some on the fence line behind Alfie's as well that we can pick!  It's insane!  I'm not a fan of blackberries so I won't be eating them!

Not the smartest Ideas

Well it got hot and humid too fast, I didn't get feeding done quick enough to go 'fishing' with dad so after he got done and finished mowing I gave Heidi a bath.  Instead of just taking her to hand graze, I put her nylon bridle on, pulled the 3 step, step ladder out and got up bareback.  On a wet horse.  Not the wisest of ideas.  I was soaked already so I helped dry the rest of her back.

And I didn't even think about scrubbing her legs.  The ground is still squishy and they'll just get grubby again real quick anyway.  Plus I didn't have any whitener to help clean them.
