Slow time

So been a slow few months honestly.  Everything is just rolling on by.

Big girls have been doing well.  Harry has already dropped 3 rolls of hay total out there for them, and I need to get back down to him to pay for some more.

The bunnies have been well, as well.  I have had a few little litters, but after the long extended heat the bucks are just not ready to breed.  So the litter numbers have been small if they exist at all.  I got the plastic all up on the barn to help with the cold and winter weather coming in.

Also took some quick snaps of the flooding from the 3+inches of rain we got coming into December this year.

Busy day.

It was nice to see water back in my drainage creek again.  It was starting to grow weeds from being so dry.

Rubber stall mat down under Connie and Natalie to make it easier on their old arthritic legs.

I scrubbed the girl's water tub again too, it needed BADLY.  I need to clean it way more often.

I did get to brush the girls some as well.

I also scrubbed out my 2-8 quart buckets, my 5 quart and the big horse water bucket I use for rabbit water.

Trip

Of coarse I took the first weekend into my vacation and went to visit Anita (and her baby Charlotte) and Kari-Ann up in Maryland. Naturally I didn't take a single picture except some scenary on the drive back.   Willow came with me, it was a learning experience for both of us.  I have never taken her out on a vacation like this before and stayed in a hotel.
Found a plaza near the hotel that was Willow's!

Off Braddock Road:

These are off the interstate on the way home.

Of coarse I took the first weekend into my vacation and went to visit Anita (and her baby Charlotte) and Kari-Ann up in Maryland. Naturally I didn't take a single picture except some scenary on the drive back.

I was glad to be home though.  It's pushing me to get rid of more rabbits so that I can travel way
 easier!
But I was happy to see my girls.

The little necklace Anita made me.  I have been wearing it but I know once I go back to work I won't be able to wear it to work.  Too easy for a cat or dog to catch it- and I don't want it destroyed with cattle work.

More catching up

So today was a catch up on everything kind of day.
Started at 7:30 with a short ride on Tessa.

Then a quick run to the storage room to take pictures of what Breyers I have, I wanted to do the Grand Champions too but I couldn't find them nor did I give it enough time.
So my afternoon went to scrubbing the water tub since it was low enough

So satisfying to see a nice clean water tub.

I let the ponies watch me, I put their fly masks back on to try and help the flies from making them tear.

Their feet are dry and cracking and it's not even 6 weeks post trim.  So I have to get some hardener and conditioner to help.

You know it's dry when there is clover growing in the dried up drainage creek.

Also tattooed the last of the baby bunnies.

Also been messing with my plastic ponies.  Hopefully one day soon I will be back to full force horse girl with a side of dog showing!
I'll have plastic and live horses, and aussies

Catching up!

I finally forced myself to do the girls manes.  I pulled most of Heidi's and it's a bit shorter than I wanted to go but it will grow back I know it will.  Tessa's I just don't like at all.  I know it will grow back though.

I was playing with the bunnies and getting pictures so I can get them all listed up for sale and get them GONE.  But can't help some of the cuteness

Horse baths and New Project

New project first:
Little white, gray heifer calf.  She has 'Joint Ill' and Patrick opened up the infected joints and put drain tubes in them to keep the infection out.  Brought her home this morning and she's settling into the horse's run in.  Horses are NOT amused.

She will be a resale once we wean her off the bottle, she'll be listed on Craigslist for sale.
Horses kept running around like lunatics when she would Moo at them.

So since they were so discombobulated over the calf.  Hot sweaty and gross, they got baths!  So they are semi clean.  At least they are alot cleaner than they were before.  I went out and sat in the backyard while they grazed some afterwards and got some pictures since I don't know when I'll get around to bathing them again.  Willow was having fun being a goof too.

I had to take some of the empty rabbit cages out of the barn so I could get through to the calf.  Jess will be feeding it during the morning while I am not here, then I will give it, it's supper.  Jess wants to call it Baby.  Whatever, I didn't plan on giving it a name as it's not staying around!  She's just a 'let's see if she'll survive' kind of deal.
